Requirements
  • Proven experience and interest in graphic design, with relevant education or demonstrated skills as an acceptable substitute.
  • Strong design and typography skills, awareness of current industry trends, and the ability to produce high-quality work with exceptional attention to detail.
  • The ability to work independently, seek clarification when needed, prioritize tasks, maintain focus, meet deadlines, and accept constructive feedback.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud, particularly InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop, as well as PowerPoint and Microsoft Office.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Current enrollment as an undergraduate or graduate student at The University of Texas at Austin.
  • No concurrent employment in another on-campus position.
  • Authorization to work in the United States.
Responsibilities
  • Design and produce high-quality print and digital materials, including direct mailers, brochures, one-pagers, advertisements, presentations, event collateral, signage, infographics, social media assets, animations, email and web layouts, greeting cards, and promotional items.
  • Ensure consistent adherence to the University of Texas brand guidelines across print, digital, and multimedia platforms.
  • Collaborate with the design team to brainstorm and develop creative solutions for projects.
  • Update and adapt existing designs across multiple formats and sizes to meet specific project needs.
  • Prepare and preflight print files to ensure they meet technical specifications and are print-ready.
  • Assist with photo sourcing and editing, including color correction, resizing, cropping, and maintaining consistency across images.
Desired Qualifications
  • Previous experience in graphic design and production.
  • Familiarity with the printing process, including understanding print specifications and preparing final files for production.
  • Experience creating simple animations or motion graphics using Adobe After Effects, Adobe Express, or Canva.
