Requirements
  • A bachelor's degree is required.
  • Three to five years of experience in athletics marketing, promotions, or administration, with evidence of successful leadership in positions of increasing responsibility.
  • Demonstrated experience managing multiple marketing channels, with highly developed writing and editing skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Adobe Creative Suite, email marketing tools, social media management tools, and analytics software.
  • Ability to work successfully in a fast-paced, service-oriented environment within a complex organization.
  • Evidence of a creative leadership style and a track record of leading strategic and tactical marketing outcomes.
  • Ability to work independently and entrepreneurially to implement new initiatives.
  • Ability to produce high-quality deliverables with meticulous attention to detail and analytical skills.
  • Ability to provide quick turnarounds for multiple requests while maintaining high-quality work.
  • A highly collaborative style with experience in relationship-building, consensus-building, and managing through influence.
  • Willingness to work evenings and weekends to support programming, events, and major project deadlines.

Responsibilities
  • Manage, coordinate, and implement internal and external marketing for LMU Athletics, prioritizing resources and aligning with the Senior Staff.
  • Develop comprehensive marketing plans to maximize revenue, increase attendance, promote programs, and elevate in-game experiences.
  • Synchronize gameday production areas, including promotions, giveaways, crowd engagement, and video, to execute established plans and create a home-field or home-court advantage for student-athletes.
  • Create and coordinate the annual marketing calendar and deadlines to reach revenue and attendance targets.
  • Partner with the LMU Athletics external team to implement digital media plans that maximize social platforms and increase engagement.
  • Ensure that LMU Athletics marketing deliverables meet quality standards and align with university tone, style, visual identity, and brand standards.
  • Produce and edit traditional and digital marketing products, including graphics and videos, to engage target audiences and support fundraising or recruitment campaigns.
  • Manage LMU Athletics email marketing campaigns using best practices, including template creation and A/B testing.
  • Coordinate with MarComm colleagues to incorporate Athletics objectives into broader university communications, presentations, and social media efforts.
  • Collaborate with campus and community stakeholders to promote athletics events and initiatives.
  • Oversee the marketing and promotions budget, exercise independent judgment on purchases, and ensure projects are completed on time.
  • Adopt best-practice project management and risk-mitigation plans to ensure successful outcomes.
  • Develop and maintain a marketing internship program.
  • Serve as the primary liaison with the LMU Spirit Squad and mascot, including budget oversight.
  • Act as a liaison between LMU Athletics and MarComm to ensure seamless resource allocation and work with public relations professionals as assigned.
  • Evaluate tactics and assess the impact of marketing and outreach efforts to drive continuous improvement.
  • Explore non-traditional marketing opportunities and oversee grassroots programs.
  • Complete required rules-compliance information and participate in annual evaluations of adherence to rules compliance.
  • Conduct annual evaluations of rules compliance for assigned personnel.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Desired Qualifications
