Corporate Payroll Specialist 2

Summary

The Corporate Payroll Specialist II performs routine practices to assist in payroll preparation. Responsible for maintaining basic payroll records such as time worked, rate changes, overtime, vacations, and the like. Assists in the processing of timecards, timekeeping activities, manual checks, and payroll balancing.

Roles and Responsibilities

• Responsible for accurate and timely processing of multi-state payroll for exempt and non-exempt workforce across multiple FEINs 
• Possesses a working knowledge of multi state and local payroll taxes, including set up, calculation, and notice resolution 
• Verifies new hires in the payroll system and enters required payroll data
• Maintains co-worker payroll records
• Audits timekeeping records for compliance with established standards, government requirements and union requirements, if applicable
• Manually enters time data for jobs, when necessary
• Pays co-workers based on applicable payroll cycle 
• Processes check adjustments and shortages
• Verifies and enters vacation, sick, and holiday pay
• Complies with special rate requirements such as overtime, prevailing wage, union rates, etc.
• Processes unemployment, certified payrolls, garnishments, levies, CIP reports, employment verifications, and union reporting
• Contributes to continuous improvement efforts with processes
   

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED and 5 years’ prior payroll experience
• Working knowledge of all phases of multi-state payroll processing, including union payrolls, garnishments, child support, and certified payrolls including Davis-Bacon 
• Knowledgeable in Word and Excel
• Strong attention to accuracy and detail
• Self-starter and deadline oriented
• Able to work in a team environment
• Strong communication skills; high degree of confidentiality 
• Paycor or Vista experience a plus
• FPC or CPP Preferred
