About the job

Requirements
  • 2–5 years as a technical product owner or product manager, business analyst, or software engineer, ideally on API, platform, integration, or connected-device products.
  • A track record shipping technical products where the customer was a developer, a partner system, or a device, not only a screen.
  • Experience working with software engineering teams in an agile process and alongside hardware teams.
  • Proven experience managing a product through all stages of its lifecycle.
  • Hands-on comfort with REST APIs and webhooks, including reading a specification, exercising an endpoint in Postman or curl, and assessing payload design.
  • Working knowledge of SQL and enough data fluency to answer questions independently.
  • A solid grasp of the software development life cycle, cloud infrastructure, and how data moves through a system end to end.
  • Comfort with logs and observability tooling to narrow down whether a problem is the device, network, ingestion pipeline, or application.
  • Ability to translate complex technical concepts for non-technical audiences and write with precision.
  • Ability to manage several parallel workstreams.
  • Comfort with ambiguity and hardware realities outside one's control.
  • A keen sense of user experience and empathy for customers.
Responsibilities
  • Own the roadmap for the public API and partner ecosystem, including requirements definition, endpoint and payload design, authentication, rate limits, versioning, and deprecation.
  • Work directly with partner developers and integration engineers to scope, launch, and unblock integrations.
  • Own developer experience through clear documentation, predictable payloads, useful error messages, sandbox access, and sensible defaults.
  • Own product requirements for ingesting data from GPS trackers, dash cams, and asset and equipment trackers deployed in the field.
  • Partner with engineering on how device data is normalized, enriched, stored, and exposed to customers and downstream features and reports.
  • Address field hardware issues including intermittent cellular coverage, buffered and out-of-order messages, power and duty-cycle tradeoffs, and missing or ambiguous data.
  • Define reporting, alerting, and rules behaviors that customers use to act on device data.
  • Help build operational visibility into device state, connectivity, and firmware versions across an installed base of more than 250,000 devices.
  • Own initiatives in core web and mobile products alongside platform work.
  • Write user stories and acceptance criteria, own and prioritize the backlog, and run refinement and sprint ceremonies with the engineering team.
  • Partner with quality assurance to define test cases and validate solutions against real device and API behavior.
  • Decide scope and sequencing and explain tradeoffs to engineers and executives.
  • Serve as the internal subject-matter expert on API, device data, and firmware capabilities.
  • Talk regularly with customers and partners, including technical audiences, and turn their feedback into prioritized, well-defined work.
  • Stay current on competitive software and hardware to keep solutions market-ready.
Desired Qualifications
  • IoT or connected-hardware experience, including telemetry ingestion, over-the-air update campaigns, MQTT, or similar protocols.
  • Familiarity with cellular connectivity in the field.
  • Experience owning a public or partner-facing API, including deprecation decisions with real customers.
  • Familiarity with event streaming or message queues such as Kafka, MQTT, or SQS.

Linxup launches rear-vision cameras to close blind spots and cut liability in small fleet vehicles

Linxup, a GPS fleet tracking company serving small and mid-sized businesses, has launched two rear-facing auxiliary cameras that integrate with its existing LinxCam system. The LinxCam Rear Vision and LinxCam Rear Vision Slimline provide visibility behind vehicles, addressing blind spots left by forward-facing and in-cab cameras. The cameras aim to help fleets document rear-end collisions, which account for 29% of all crashes, verify proof of service, and defend against liability claims. Both models connect directly to the current LinxCam platform and storage. "Fleet operators need visibility into every part of the job, not just what is happening in front of the vehicle," said Mike Garlow, product director of emerging products at Linxup. Both camera models are now available to customers.

Linxup integrates with Draivn to help fleet operators cut auto insurance costs with telematics data

Linxup, a GPS fleet tracking company, has integrated with Draivn to help fleet operators secure better commercial auto insurance rates based on actual safety performance. The partnership translates Linxup's telematics data into validated risk exposure that insurers can use for underwriting decisions. The integration addresses a disconnect in commercial auto insurance, where carriers often price coverage based on broad assumptions rather than real-world fleet performance data. Through the partnership, safer fleet operators can receive faster quotes from carriers that recognise and reward their safety records. Available now to Linxup customers operating fleets of 1 to 100-plus vehicles, the integration streamlines communication between fleets, brokers and insurers. The platform captures data on speeding trends, braking behaviour and safety improvements to deliver more accurate commercial auto quotes.

Linxup launches AI chatbot to help fleet managers cut costs and boost efficiency

Linxup, a GPS fleet tracking company serving small and mid-sized businesses, has launched an AI-powered chatbot designed to help fleet managers make faster decisions. The tool provides instant answers to fleet questions, flags anomalies like excessive idle time in real time, and converts complex data into actionable insights. The chatbot allows managers to query their fleet data using natural language, such as asking which vehicles started late or requesting driver coaching recommendations. It also runs cost-saving scenarios, like calculating fuel savings from reducing idle time by 20%. According to co-founder Naeem Bari, the system goes beyond identifying problems by providing step-by-step solutions with return on investment projections. For example, it can build complete sustainability programmes including communication plans and driver incentives. The St. Louis-based company serves contractors and small businesses across sectors including HVAC, landscaping and construction.

LOUIS, Jan. 13, 2026 /PRNewswire/ - Linxup today announced the launch of its new Safety Score and Leaderboard, providing fleets with a clear, objective way to measure driver risk and strengthen safety performance across their operations. By translating telematics data into easy-to-understand scores and rankings, the new tools help fleet managers identify trends, reinforce safe behaviors, and address potential risks before they escalate. The Linxup Safety Score is a configurable, data-driven rating that measures driver performance using defined safety metrics. It helps fleet managers quickly spot risk, recognize top performers, and focus coaching where it has the greatest impact by combining key driving behaviors and AI-detected risk events into a simple daily score for each driver or vehicle. This visibility makes it easy to recognize progress, pinpoint where coaching may be needed, and take timely action. Linxup's new Safety Score and Leaderboard deliver a comprehensive, easy-to-use solution for improving fleet safety through the following benefits: * Easy to customize: Tailor scoring models to align with your organization's specific safety priorities and policies. * Clear and fair: Transparent scoring ensures both fleet managers and drivers understand performance results, building trust and reinforcing a culture of safety. * Insurance-aligned: Metrics reflect insurer-recognized risk factors, helping fleets better manage exposure and potentially reduce insurance premiums. * Actionable insights: At-a-glance visibility makes it easy to identify top performers and at-risk drivers, enabling timely, targeted coaching. * Driver trend tracking: Monitor strengths, improvements, and risk areas over time to support continuous performance improvement. * Complete safety solution: Seamlessly integrates with the Driver Coaching Dashboard and Coaching Sessions for end-to-end safety management.
