About the job

Requirements
  • 10+ years of Customer Success, Solutions, Services, or post-sale leadership experience in enterprise software as a service, artificial intelligence, or other complex enterprise technology, including meaningful leadership responsibility.
  • Experience building and leading high-performing enterprise Customer Success teams while operating as both an executive leader and a hands-on player-coach.
  • A track record of moving complex enterprise customers from initial deployment through adoption, measurable business value, production or renewal, and expansion.
  • Experience designing and scaling Customer Success organizations, including segmentation, lifecycle design, customer health, renewal forecasting, and playbooks, through a meaningful growth inflection, ideally from roughly $10–30 million annual recurring revenue through $50–100 million or more.
  • The ability to build trust with Fortune 500 executives, technical leaders, and frontline operators and communicate effectively across those levels.
  • Strong systems thinking and operating rigor, using data to diagnose problems, make tradeoffs, and drive accountability.
  • The ability to define ownership and drive outcomes across Sales, Product, Engineering, Solutions, and other customer-facing teams without relying on organizational boundaries.
Responsibilities
  • Build, mentor, and lead a high-performing Customer Success organization as a hands-on player-coach.
  • Codify a repeatable customer journey from onboarding and first value through production, renewal, and expansion.
  • Design customer segmentation, service tiers, coverage models, playbooks, and operating rhythms that evolve with company scale.
  • Establish hiring standards, onboarding programs, and coaching frameworks for the Customer Success team.
  • Personally partner with a small portfolio of the company's most strategic enterprise customers.
  • Build trusted executive relationships that create conviction, accelerate adoption, and connect the product to customers' highest-priority business outcomes.
  • Step into high-priority customer situations, diagnose what is blocking value, and mobilize the appropriate cross-functional team to resolve them.
  • Build a culture centered on measurable customer outcomes, including realized business value, changed behaviors, and earned expansion.
  • Partner with Sales on account strategy, renewal, and expansion, with explicit ownership and handoffs across the customer lifecycle.
  • Partner with Engagement and Solutions to make the transition from deployment to activation and value realization seamless.
  • Translate patterns from customer deployments into Product and Engineering priorities while distinguishing scalable product needs from one-off requests.
  • Create one integrated customer journey so customers experience a single team rather than separate internal functions.
  • Build an operating cadence around activation, time-to-value, customer health, adoption, realized value, renewals, retention, and expansion forecasting.
  • Use customer data to identify risk, prioritize resources, and improve customer outcomes.
  • Build the systems, tooling, automation, and executive reporting required to scale Customer Success with rigor.
  • Define the customer lifecycle from onboarding and adoption through renewal and expansion.
  • Establish operating metrics and an executive scorecard for activation, time-to-value, adoption, realized business value, retention, renewal forecasting, and expansion.
  • Build customer segmentation, service tiers, coverage models, and operating rhythms that scale without reducing customer-experience quality.
  • Build an early-warning customer health and risk system that provides teams and executives with clear actions.
  • Create a repeatable executive value-realization motion using Mutual Success Plans, value readouts, and quarterly business reviews.
  • Create a predictable path from initial deployment to production and expansion in partnership with Sales.
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience in manufacturing, industrial technology, automotive, aerospace, or another complex operational environment, especially where software adoption changes real-world operations.
  • Experience in enterprise software as a service, artificial intelligence, or other complex enterprise technology.
  • A builder mentality and comfort creating a playbook in an ambiguous, fast-scaling environment while remaining close to customers.

About the company

AxionRay develops AI-powered quality control tools that help engineering teams detect, investigate, and fix quality issues faster. The product automatically identifies and contextualizes emerging issues, then guides teams on countermeasures, reducing downtime and warranty/service costs while boosting customer satisfaction. It works by monitoring data across projects to spot trends, alerting and contextualizing problems, and enabling collaboration across regions and departments to resolve issues efficiently. The company differentiates itself by combining real-time trend detection with contextual issue analysis and cross-team collaboration, focusing on quality assurance and operational efficiency rather than just monitoring. Its goal is to lower the cost of poor quality and improve customer experience by speeding up the detection-to-countermeasure cycle and enabling teams to work together seamlessly.

What believers are saying

  • Axion raised $37 million on December 15, 2025, backing aggressive product expansion.
  • Its August 21, 2026 website still markets proactive recall prevention, signaling active go-to-market momentum.
  • Revelio estimates 402 employees in March 2026, showing scale without obvious collapse or retrenchment.

What critics are saying

  • Axion depends on manufacturers sharing sensitive failure data; one breach kills trust instantly.
  • Salesforce Data 360 integrations invite commoditization by Salesforce native analytics and Service Cloud partners.
  • If major OEMs delay renewals after pilots, Axion’s recall-prevention ROI story collapses by 2027.

What makes Axion unique

  • Axion turns unstructured service, telemetry, and field data into early quality signals.
  • Its 2025 Salesforce Ventures Series B deepens workflow distribution inside Salesforce ecosystems.
  • Public customer naming spans Boeing, Medtronic, Cummins, Daikin, Harley-Davidson, and SharkNinja.
