Requirements
  • Graduation from an accredited nursing program is required.
  • One to three years of related work experience is required.
  • A Registered Nurse license is required.
  • An American Heart Association Basic Life Support certificate is required.
  • Ability to make decisions guided by general instructions and practices, including recommendations for moderately complex problems.
  • Ability to analyze and solve varied problems using observation, knowledge, and clinical skills.
  • Ability to follow procedures, organize work, and seek assistance with difficult or unpredictable situations.

  • Working knowledge of standard concepts, practices, procedures, and policies.
  • Ability to provide patient care to neonatal patients from birth to 6 months and patients in the young adult, middle-age, and elderly age groups.

  • Ability to use required protective equipment and work around infectious diseases, airborne pathogens, and bloodborne pathogens.
  • Ability to perform medium physical work, including lifting and carrying items up to 50 pounds and repositioning patients as specified.
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, twist, crouch, grasp, manipulate, push, pull, reach, use a keyboard, and perform other specified physical duties throughout the shift.
Responsibilities
  • Provide direct, patient-centered care and make necessary nursing judgments.
  • Systematically assess the healthcare needs of individuals or groups and formulate, implement, and evaluate care plans.
  • Coordinate patient care and direct assistive personnel to provide safe, effective, efficient, equitable, and timely care.
  • Identify resources necessary to implement the plan of care.
  • Collaborate with other health professionals to determine the healthcare needs of patients and families.
  • Build relationships with patients and families that maintain trust and respect.
  • Communicate effectively when exchanging information and act as a patient advocate.
  • Maintain annual mandatory education requirements, including emergency skills and unit-based competencies.
  • Identify continuing growth and development needs with the unit-based educator or clinical nurse specialist.
  • Participate in professional development activities and quality improvement activities.
  • Demonstrate responsibility and accountability for nursing practice and patient safety.
  • Provide individualized, developmentally supportive care for infants and collaborate with families and the interdisciplinary team to promote safe care and optimal outcomes.

Beth Israel Lahey Health rolls out Heidi's AI scribing to all physicians after 90% report better patient presence

Beth Israel Lahey Health is rolling out Heidi's ambient AI scribing tool to all its physicians following a successful trial across its facilities. The health system, which serves over 6,000 providers across 14 hospitals and 175 primary care practices, prioritises addressing physician burnout, with nearly half of US physicians reporting burnout. During a six-month trial offering Heidi to 1,000 providers, the majority adopted the technology. Survey results showed 89% were satisfied with note quality, 90% felt more present with patients, 74% reduced after-hours work time, and 82% experienced reduced cognitive load during visits. The implementation demonstrates how ambient AI can deliver immediate relief to physicians whilst benefiting patients and the healthcare system. Heidi supports over 2 million consultations weekly globally and has raised $96.6 million from investors including Point72 Private Investments and Blackbird.
