What We Need:
Reporting to the Senior Director of Digital Community Marketing, the Director of Global Digital Marketing for NBA2K will play a key role in bringing together social, community and influencer / creator marketing throughout the lifecycle of the game. You will not only be a social media marketing expert and innovator, but will intuitively understand the deep connection between influencer and creator output, as well as work closely with our community marketing leads who are focused heavily on Twitch, Discord and Reddit. You will serve as the key liaison between all digital community marketing and our NBA global marketing team, project managing workflows, building timelines for execution, optimizing work and getting projects holistically over the line on time and budget.
You will be responsible for leading campaign social strategy and planning, integrating social plans with partnership with creator + influencer teams, as well as working closely with our community platforms + content team to amplify efforts and build affinity with our consumers. This role is an essential strategic and executional lead who will work closely with cross-functional teams including live services, go-to-market and global and territory marketing teams. Proactivity and excellent communication skills will make you successful in this role, as well as a proven ability to work directionally with some level of ambiguity. This is both a strategic and get your hands dirty role, requiring clear direction to the teams and the ability to multi-task with various cross-functional teams globally.
Knowledge + experience in the gaming industry, sports and/or entertainment a plus.
Digital Marketing Expertise
You are not only a social media marketing expert, but existentially understand the broader connection between social, community building and influencer / creator marketing. You view the digital ecosystem through a brand lens and can lead a team to shepherd short-term and long-term builds. You are on top of industry trends, have deep connections with platform partners and know how to get the most out of them. You will be not only a subject matter expert, but help to sculpt integrated marketing plans that are driven by your proven knowledge and expertise. You will continue to proactively present forward-thinking strategies and work closely with teams to educate, brainstorm and collaborate on improved ways to build holistic marketing campaigns and initiatives 365.
Forward-Thinking, Nimble Approach
Digital marketing is ever-evolving and this role will help to set the pace for future ways of working, to optimize our processes. In fact, most of our marketing is driven through digital channels. Understanding process and optimal workflow is key in this role, as well as an ability to steer team and cross-functional actions to streamline the process. Social Content Savvy
Content is everything. As the digital marketing lead, you will have a deep knowledge and understanding of social trends and parameters, as well as good taste in content and a knowledge for what “performs” on platform. Your social content expertise will set the tone for the types of content and briefs we output to our creative teams and creators / influencers, helping to direct campaigns in a meaningful, strategic way. Your content lens will also help sculpt how we weave in community building channels (Twitch, Discord, Reddit, etc) to frontline social and amplify their reach.
Global Marketing Mindset
This role is a part of our Global team and will help to sculpt our overall global plans, as well as work with territories to execute localized strategies from a global lens. You will have a global mindset, with the ability to prioritize and scale locally. You are on top of global marketing trends and understand the nuances of language, regional platforms and evolving regional strategies.
Insights + Progress Driven
As the main liaison for DCM group reporting, you will spearhead and define reporting cadence and format with our global marketing team + cross-functional teams, stewarding final output to help show the progress and impact of our work. You will work with insights to assess metrics that matter and define and determine benchmarking around the title. A firm understanding of the balance of qualitative and quantitative storytelling is key for this role, helping us analyze and troubleshoot in real-time.

The Director of Global Digital Marketing for NBA2K will develop the global digital marketing strategy for both our NBA2K annual game release, as well as an always-on, innovative approach to increasing brand and game awareness 365. You will be the champion for prioritization of channels, social content strategy, player journey mapping and connecting the dots between social channels, community and influencer / creator marketing. You will help to connect our NBA2K MyTeam digital ecosystem with the broader channel approach and work closely with the Live Services marketing team to develop strategies and executions to bolster their performance. The role will work cross-functionally globally with Global Marketing and Creative teams on testing new content strategies and devising plans for optimal output.
As the chief strategist and project manager, you will draft and update yearly holistic NBA2K Global Digital Community Marketing plans to reflect the needs of new seasons, adaptations and platform evolutions. You will also be the conduit for the DCM pod to develop effective paid boosting strategies to bolster organic content on-platform. We will look to you to constantly look at ways to optimize performance and bring innovative tactics and ways of thinking to the team.
The social platforms you will oversee include, but are not limited to: Instagram / Reels, Twitter, TikTok, YouTube and Facebook. While our Community Marketing team oversees Twitch, Discord and Reddit, it is imperative that you have a deep understanding of these platforms and work directly with them on ways to optimize and leverage those channels within our social ecosystem. It is crucial that you have a fast ability to identify and communicate emerging social media trends and platforms that will enable NBA2K to connect deeper with our players and fans. You will also be responsible for managing the NBA2K social marketing team and closely work in partnership with community and influencer marketing leads.
This role will own the analysis and reporting process across all NBA2K organic social platforms and help to create a pipeline for analysis with insights. This includes overseeing and sharing results, implementing optimizations as needed and driving the team to test and learn in real-time. You will also play a key role in educating the value of digital marketing, platform specific strategies, content + creator alignment and demonstrating the commercial application to cross-functional teams. As a part of this you will also be responsible for maintaining reporting flow and working closely with leadership to weigh in on publishing tools and identifying potential Martech needs.
You will be responsible for developing and implementing platform-specific global strategies to increase NBA2K’s presence across social channels and build the brand’s cultural cache. You will lead a team of world-class social marketers and work hand-in-hand as part of the Digital Community Marketing team, incorporating influencer + creator content into NBA2K’s social ecosystem.
As the frontline of digital marketing communication, you will be responsible for managing cross functional timelines and expectations. You will create and foster an environment of outreach and collaboration between cross-functional teams, as well as help territory teams to funnel in more regional content to global channels. You will also work closely with Global PR, paid media and Global Marketing to strategically build out holistic plans.

We are seeking someone with an expertise in both basketball and hoops culture, but who also understands how to strike a balance between commercial and brand marketing, while meaningfully driving cultural conversation from our NBA2K channels. Deep understanding of culture is a huge benefit in this role as we aim to be a driving voice within the NBA2K gaming community, but the hoops cultural community as well. You will bring a level of taste and tone to this position that helps to elevate the brand while helping us build with new GenZ and Alpha players, as well as satiate and intrigue our returning players.
What You Will Do:
- Lead and develop campaigns as the driver of our NBA2K Digital Community Marketing hub, which will include social, community, creator / influencer marketing leads, working as one holistic team.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to prioritize and streamline digital community marketing efforts, both for annual campaigns and 365 brand building.
- Thoughtfully steer and build campaigns from audience insights that align with our identified target audiences, as well as help to continue evolving and identifying those audience needs.
- Set KPIs, benchmarks, metrics that matter, goals and objectives for all campaigns in partnership with our insights team.
- Report on aggregated insights that help to set digital marketing storytelling for NBA2K.
- Manage and optimize campaign reporting and tracking, building dashboards and effective workflows for the team to streamline reporting.
- Build and maintain relationships with key internal and external stakeholders.
- Lead cross-functional communication to connect Global Marketing teams with all DCM teams, managing expectations, timelines and needs of the team to execute properly.
- Helm, communicate and maintain Digital Community Marketing budgets for NBA2K.
- Drive long-term planning and execution for forward-thinking strategies YoY.
- Oversee and steer creative ideation and social content development needed to to launch best-in-class campaigns.
- Serve as the go-to liaison for all things Digital Marketing for NBA2K, working closely with functional leads and partners to bring their POV and expertise to life within campaigns.

The pay range for this position in California at the start of employment is expected to be between $180,000 and $220,000 per Year. However, base pay offered is based on market location, and may vary further depending on individualized factors for job candidates, such as job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and other objective business considerations. Subject to those same considerations, the total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including a bonus and/or equity awards, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
