Requirements
  • Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada certification as a specialist ophthalmologist.
  • Eligibility for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Nova Scotia.
  • Membership with the Canadian Medical Protective Association.
  • Ability to provide full-scope comprehensive ophthalmic care.
  • Ability to work full-time and provide occasional overnight and weekend coverage.
Responsibilities
  • Work as a full-scope ophthalmologist to provide care to patients within the Western Zone.
  • Support Nova Scotia Health Authority specialty-care delivery by liaising with applicable staff within the zone and province.
  • Provide consultation support to the Western Zone, including daytime coverage and occasional overnight and weekend coverage.
  • Provide care to the local Western Zone population.
  • Maintain professional responsibilities and quality of practice under the Zone Surgery Department Head.
  • Operate within the bylaws, rules, and regulations of Nova Scotia Health Authority.
Desired Qualifications
  • Interest or additional training in glaucoma and/or oculoplastics.
  • Strong patient orientation and ability to interact successfully with other team members.
