Requirements

At least 1 year of experience as a provider in any specialty.
A Master's degree in Nursing or Physician Assistant studies is required. Physician Assistants employed at Cone Health before October 14, 2024 may have this requirement waived if they have maintained employment and Physician Assistant licensure with board certification.
A valid North Carolina Registered Nurse and Nurse Midwife or Nurse Practitioner license, or a North Carolina Physician Assistant license, is required.
Board certification within 1 year of the date of hire is required through the applicable certifying organization for Physician Assistants or Nurse Practitioners.
Basic Life Support certification from the American Red Cross or American Heart Association is required.
A current, unrestricted Drug Enforcement Administration registration must be maintained in accordance with federal and state regulations.

Responsibilities

Perform physical assessments, review patient medical histories, and interpret diagnostic tests and results to provide effective treatment.
Conduct preventive health screenings based on the patient's age, history, and unique needs.
Educate patients and their families about specialty-care medical conditions, treatment, and follow-up.
Maintain records of all patient care to ensure an accurate patient history.
Perform specialty-care medical procedures in accordance with departmental guidelines and clinical roles in inpatient and outpatient care settings.
Identify ways to improve inpatient and outpatient specialty care by assessing, problem-solving, and evaluating clinical and system issues.
Perform other duties as assigned.

Location: 3 days per week at Wesley Long Hospital, 2 days per week at Drawbridge Campus
Exempt: Yes (Salaried)
FTE: 1 (40 hours/week)
Schedule: Monday – Friday 8am-5pm

Essential Job Function:

Required: Valid NC RN and Nurse Midwife or NP license OR NC PA license Board Certified within 1 year of date of hire by either the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA) for PA's OR the American Nursing Credentialing Center (ANCC) or the National Certification Corporation (NCC) for NP's OR the American Midwifery Certification Board (AMCB) or The American Association of Nurse Practitioners (AANP) or Pediatric Nursing Certification Board (PNCB)BLS (CPR)-American Red Cross or AHA Healthcare Provider Neonatal Resuscitation Protocol (NRP) Certification required for Neonatal Advanced Practice Providers IVC Certified within 90 days of employment for Behavioral Health Advance Practice Provider Must possess and maintain a current, unrestricted DEA registration in accordance with federal and state regulations.
