Requirements
  • A Ph.D. in Agricultural Economics, Economics, Agribusiness, or a closely related field is required.
  • Demonstrated commitment to excellence in teaching, research, and service is required.
  • Working knowledge and experience in crop and livestock industries are required.
  • Commitment to an interdisciplinary team approach to education and research is required.
  • Interpersonal skills and a desire to establish working relationships with external constituents in allied agriculture industries are required.
  • Demonstrated experience in securing external funding and scholarly publication is required.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills are required.
  • Applicants must provide a letter of interest or cover letter, curriculum vitae, personal statement, unofficial transcripts, and three professional references.
  • Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States at the time of hire and maintain work authorization throughout employment.

  • Applicants are subject to a criminal history investigation and verification of credentials and other required information.
Responsibilities
  • Teach a minimum of 9 hours per long semester in face-to-face and/or online formats.
  • Contribute to the agricultural economics and agribusiness teaching program with emphasis in production and resource management, finance, international trade, policy, or management.
  • Develop a research program in agricultural economics or agribusiness.
  • Secure extramural funding for research and scholarly activities.
  • Advise Master of Science and Doctor of Philosophy graduate students in Agricultural Business and Economics.
  • Publish research findings and syntheses in refereed journals.
  • Develop collaborative programs with scientists in other agencies, universities, and the agriculture industry.
  • Develop strong industry relationships with agribusiness professionals in the region and state.
  • Foster employment opportunities for undergraduate and graduate students.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Desired Qualifications
  • Academic or industry experience beyond the Ph.D. is preferred.
