P&G and Stryker: two dividend stocks to hold for decades

Procter & Gamble and Stryker are two dividend stocks suited to long-term holders, according to the article. Both sell products people need in any economy. P&G has raised its dividend for 70 consecutive years. In fiscal 2026, it posted net sales of about $87 billion, up 3%, and net earnings of $16.1 billion. It returned more than $15 billion to shareholders, including $10.2 billion in dividends. Organic sales and core earnings per share each grew just 1%. Stryker has raised its dividend for more than three decades. Second-quarter 2026 revenue rose 9.4% to $6.6 billion, and adjusted earnings per share climbed 17.9% to $3.69. Demand should gain from an ageing US population, though recalls, acquisition costs, and hospital spending pressures remain risks.

"They told us they wanted more power, improved ergonomics and enhanced integration," said Mitch Foley, vice president and general manager of Stryker's Neurosurgical business. The first clinical cases are expected to begin in October. A full commercial launch is planned for later this fall.

Stryker shares fall 20% in six months despite 9.2% organic growth and $25.84B revenue

Stryker (NYSE:SYK) shares have fallen 20% over the past six months to $277.82, while the S&P 500 gained 12.8%. The medical device maker develops orthopedic, surgical, neurotechnology, and patient care products that reach over 150 million patients a year. Organic revenue, which excludes acquisitions, divestitures, and currency swings, grew an average of 9.2% year-on-year over the past two years. That suggests Stryker can expand without costly acquisitions. Revenue over the past 12 months was $25.84 billion. Its scale gives it leverage with suppliers in a heavily regulated, competitive market. Free cash flow margin rose 6.5 percentage points over five years to 18.2% for the trailing 12 months. After the drop, the stock trades at 17.4× forward earnings.
