Requirements
- A bachelor's degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace, Automotive, Mechatronics, Industrial Engineering, or a similar subject.
- Experience in development and manufacturing of terminals for automotive connectors or thin-sheet-metal products using stamping technology.
- Three years of professional experience in other automotive connector components, systems, and process landscapes is preferable.
- Knowledge of design, materials, manufacturing, and assembly of plastic, elastomer, or stamped metal parts.
- Knowledge or experience in tooling is preferable.
- Knowledge of tolerance analysis, Design for Manufacturing and Assembly, and practical experience with problem-solving methodologies used in the automotive industry.
- Proficiency in TCNX or similar computer-aided design software is preferable.
- Proficiency in spoken and written English.
- Ability to communicate complex technical topics to stakeholders from various functions.
Responsibilities
- Lead, coordinate, and support international engineering teams in technical assessment, problem-solving, customer approval, tool release, and implementation of engineering changes.
- Develop design solutions for electrical connectors used in automotive and motorbike applications, accounting for material, manufacturing, ergonomic, and economic considerations; assess and validate designs and initiate further design improvements.
- Perform design calculations, including tolerance analysis and functional proof, using design tools and methodologies such as Failure Mode and Effects Analysis, Design Review Based on Failure Mode, and Design for Manufacturing and Assembly.
- Analyze requirements and derive technical solutions using the existing product portfolio, initiating development of new product variants when needed.
- Document designs, including bills of materials, technical specifications, design guidelines, and 2D drawings.
