Requirements
  • At least 1–3 years of experience in mechanical, manufacturing, process, or new product introduction engineering within an electronics manufacturing environment.
  • Expertise in networking products related to routing, switching, and data center equipment.
  • Expert knowledge of engineering change order, bill of materials, and deviation processes.
  • Working knowledge of design for excellence, including design for manufacturing, design for assembly, design for test, design for quality, or design for reliability; production fixturing; inspection processes; and manufacturing quality control.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes including computer numerical control machining, injection molding, sheet metal production, coating technologies, and finishing operations.
  • Knowledge of packaging materials and processes.
  • Experience working with contract manufacturers and supply-chain vendors in Asia.
  • Ability to investigate and evaluate new manufacturing technologies and establish technical direction.
  • Ability to understand and create tolerance stack-ups for parts and assemblies.
  • Working knowledge of laboratory equipment and tools.
  • Proficiency in Creo.
  • A B.S. or M.S. degree in Mechanical Engineering or Industrial Engineering.
  • Willingness to travel as required.
Responsibilities
  • Lead new product introduction activities from prototype builds through production ramp, ensuring smooth transitions and high-quality outcomes.
  • Develop and optimize manufacturing processes for scalable, efficient, and repeatable production.
  • Apply electromechanical manufacturing expertise and drive design for manufacturing and design-for-cost improvements across mechanical and electromechanical components.
  • Conduct root cause analysis for quality and process issues at contract manufacturers and suppliers, and drive corrective actions.
  • Lead assembly process development to ensure high-quality and efficient manufacturing workflows.
  • Engage with Hardware and Mechanical Engineering teams to identify risks, resolve build challenges, and improve yield, quality, and cost.
  • Design and develop tooling, fixtures, and assembly aids for high-volume manufacturing.
  • Manage bills of materials, deviations, manufacturing change orders, and engineering change orders with version and revision control.
  • Use product lifecycle management systems to manage product lifecycle documentation and workflows.
  • Support the full new product introduction lifecycle from early prototyping through production release and sustaining.
  • Drive data center equipment lifecycle management with a focus on manufacturability and long-term sustainability.
  • Develop and implement practices that improve manufacturing efficiency, quality, and scalability.
  • Collaborate with supply chain and procurement teams to ensure material readiness and supplier capability.
  • Optimize inventory management to reduce waste and improve production throughput.
Desired Qualifications
  • Hands-on experience with cold plates and liquid-cooling network systems.
  • Experience with automated test stations or tooling integrating sensors and software interfaces.
  • Proficiency in Python or other scripting languages for automating test fixtures and data acquisition.
  • Familiarity with product lifecycle management platforms such as Propel, Agile PLM, or Windchill PDMLink.

Arista Networks commits $9.7B to parts despite seeing only two quarters of customer demand

Arista Networks has reported its first $3 billion quarter and raised its 2026 revenue guidance to $12.6 billion. However, the company's purchase commitments have surged to $9.7 billion from $3.6 billion a year earlier, nearly matching its trailing-twelve-month revenue of $10.5 billion. These multiyear commitments cover chips, memory, and components for AI infrastructure. Yet customer visibility extends only two quarters ahead, whilst the industry-wide shortage prompting these agreements is not expected to clear until 2028. Inventory has risen to $2.5 billion, and gross margin fell to 63.4% from 65.6% year-over-year. Management projects margins between 62% and 64% for the fiscal year, factoring in supply chain cost increases. The company holds approximately $13.3 billion in cash and marketable securities to support these commitments.
