About the job

Requirements
  • At least 8 years of experience in software development, test automation, or quality engineering, including substantial hands-on experience building automated test systems.
  • Strong Java programming, object-oriented design, and debugging skills, with hands-on experience using Maven, TestNG, and Selenium WebDriver.
  • Experience owning automation framework architecture, including reusable libraries and Page Object Models, and maintaining test code through code reviews and engineering standards.
  • Experience automating web interfaces, including Web Components and Shadow DOM, as well as REST/JSON-RPC APIs, asynchronous backend workflows, and integrations; ability to validate data using SQL or NoSQL queries.
  • Experience reducing flaky tests, improving execution speed, and building reliable test-data setup and cleanup; ability to integrate and troubleshoot automated suites in CI/CD pipelines, preferably Bamboo.
  • Experience with AI-assisted software development and testing, including LLM-based tools, AI-generated test cases, automation code generation, test analysis, and debugging.
  • Ability to read application code, improve testability with developers, and distinguish product defects from automation or environment failures; familiarity with Git and pull-request workflows.
  • Hands-on TestRail experience managing test cases, runs, results, and Jira traceability.
  • Experience testing on Windows and Linux, practical networking knowledge, and familiarity with virtualized environments such as VMware or Proxmox.
  • Strong testing fundamentals and risk-based judgment, with an automation-first approach and manual or exploratory testing when needed for release validation.
  • Ability to lead technical improvements, mentor QA engineers, and collaborate across time zones; clear written and spoken English and effective documentation in Jira and Confluence.
Responsibilities
  • Design, develop, and maintain reusable Java-based automation components, API clients, Page Object Models, test-data utilities, and diagnostic tools using Maven, TestNG, and Selenium.
  • Build reliable automated coverage for GravityZone user interfaces, REST/JSON-RPC APIs, backend processing, and system integrations, prioritizing critical workflows and regression risks.
  • Integrate automated suites into Bamboo, investigate failures, reduce flaky tests, and improve execution speed and reporting; connect automated results to TestRail for coverage and execution tracking.
  • Collaborate with developers on testable designs, review automation code, define engineering standards, and mentor QA engineers in coding and automation practices.
  • Support release readiness through acceptance, smoke, and exploratory testing where automation is unavailable or unsuitable; investigate defects and contribute to release-owner activities.
  • Provision and troubleshoot cloud and on-premise test environments and contribute to maintaining QA virtualization infrastructure, including Proxmox.
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience integrating automated results through TestRail.
  • ISTQB or other software testing certifications.
  • Hands-on experience testing and validating applications deployed in cloud-based environments, including AWS and GCP.
  • Hands-on experience with Playwright, Cypress, or similar automation tools.
  • Demonstrated maturity in adopting and applying AI technologies to improve software quality, test automation, debugging, and engineering productivity.

Bitdefender launches Sovereign Acceleration Program for EU cybersecurity data control

Bitdefender has launched its Sovereign Acceleration Program to help European organisations transition to fully EU-based cybersecurity solutions. The programme ensures customer data, security events, and telemetry remain within EU jurisdiction and are never processed outside the European Union. The initiative addresses growing demand for data sovereignty, with 85% of organisations rating digital and AI sovereignty as very or extremely important, according to a February 2026 IDC poll. Bitdefender criticised competitors for "sovereignty washing" — claiming EU compliance whilst maintaining non-EU operational control. The programme combines Bitdefender's GravityZone security platform with sovereign European cloud infrastructure through partnerships with providers including OVHcloud and secunet. It offers endpoint protection, detection and response, and managed security services entirely within EU boundaries. Bitdefender is providing contract buyouts and migration support to qualified organisations, particularly those in public sector, financial services, healthcare, and critical infrastructure sectors operating under GDPR, NIS2, and DORA regulations.

Bitdefender launches RealCheck deepfake detector to combat predicted $40B fraud losses by 2027

Bitdefender has launched RealCheck, a standalone deepfake detection solution for Android and iOS devices. The app analyses video content from social media platforms including X, YouTube, Instagram, Facebook and TikTok to assess manipulation likelihood and malicious intent. Users submit video links or files for multi-layered analysis, receiving detailed reports that evaluate deception risk segment by segment rather than simple yes-no verdicts. The solution identifies impersonated public figures and allows users to share reports with others. Bitdefender RealCheck is available now in 14 countries, including the US, UK and Australia. Pricing starts at $4.99 monthly for 200 checks, with a premium tier at $12.99 monthly for 600 checks. Both plans include a seven-day free trial. The launch comes as Deloitte predicts generative AI could drive fraud losses to $40 billion in the US by 2027.

Bitdefender powers Swisscom's router-level cybersecurity against 30+ daily home network attacks

Bitdefender has integrated its security technology into Swisscom's new home network protection solution, delivering cybersecurity directly through the router. The collaboration addresses growing threats to connected households, which now average 22 devices and face over 30 attempted network attacks daily. The Smart Home Security technology provides network-level defence against malware, phishing and other threats for all connected devices, including laptops, smartphones and IoT devices, without requiring individual device installation. A Bitdefender survey of 7,000 consumers found 58% don't use third-party security on computers and 82% lack protection on tablets. The integration operates seamlessly in the background whilst maintaining performance. Swisscom, Switzerland's leading telecommunications provider, employs around 23,000 people and serves customers across multiple markets.
