Carisk Partners launches integrated pain management programme for workers' compensation claims

Carisk Partners has launched a Pain Management Program aimed at addressing physical, behavioural, and psychosocial factors contributing to persistent pain in injured workers. The Tampa-based specialty risk transfer and care coordination company developed the integrated approach originally for a large national insurance carrier. The programme builds on Carisk's intake and clinical evaluation process, incorporating behavioural health resources, individualised pain coaching, and emerging technologies such as virtual reality. The company's earlier Behavioral Health Program, launched 18 months ago, revealed that approximately 25% of behavioural health referrals involved pain as a significant clinical factor. Rather than following predetermined protocols, the programme creates customised care pathways based on individual patient needs. Carisk's Amplified Intelligence platform helps identify workers at increased risk for pain-related complications, enabling earlier intervention.
