Alibaba shares rise 0.7% despite Anthropic's claim of 151M unauthorised Claude AI exchanges

Alibaba shares rose 0.7% to $109.42 on Friday despite Anthropic alleging that operators linked to the company conducted over 151 million unauthorised exchanges to extract Claude's reasoning capabilities between May and July. Anthropic's investigation claimed the activity peaked at nearly three million exchanges daily and involved thousands of fraudulent accounts, allegedly to improve Qwen models. Alibaba has not publicly responded to the allegations. The allegations come as Alibaba's AI Cloud and Compute Services revenue grew 45% to 48.44 billion yuan, representing roughly 18% of total revenue. Shares currently trade 8.68% below their GF Value estimate of $119.82. The claims have not been established by any court or regulator.

AI giants poach Big Tech executives to expand in India and Southeast Asia

OpenAI and Anthropic are recruiting senior executives from US tech giants to expand their presence across India and Southeast Asia. The AI companies are targeting leaders with experience navigating local markets and regulatory environments. Last month, Meta's India and Southeast Asia vice president Sandhya Devanathan joined OpenAI after a decade at the company. This marked at least the ninth such hire by a US AI firm from American big tech in Asia over the past year. The recruitment focus differs from the US, where AI labs primarily compete for researchers and engineers. In Asia, companies seek executives who can drive market adoption, manage partnerships, and engage with policymakers. Industry experts note a limited pool of experienced leaders who understand both Silicon Valley operations and local business landscapes. This scarcity intensifies competition for talent capable of translating AI capabilities into regional growth.

Juro upgrades Claude connector to enable contract drafting and AI review within chat

Juro has upgraded its Claude connector to allow users to draft contracts and perform AI-powered reviews directly within chat. The intelligent contracting platform's enhanced integration enables teams to run contract workflows from within the large language model. Users can now search document content, analyse contracts for risks, draft new agreements from templates, edit existing documents, and submit third-party contracts for AI review and routing. The connector also creates dashboards tracking renewal dates, contract values and approval status. The integration works across Slack and Word, and Juro's MCP server supports ChatGPT and Wordsmith as well. Usage of the Claude connector is growing 120% month-on-month. Juro CEO Richard Mabey said legal teams no longer need to choose between their preferred AI assistant and their contract management system. The upgrade addresses the gap between frontier AI tools and separate contract repositories.

Broadcom eyes $40B Anthropic opportunity as Google chip risks weigh on stock

Broadcom could capture a $40 billion opportunity from Anthropic's growing compute needs, according to Macquarie analyst Arthur Lai. This comes as concerns mount over Google developing more chips internally, potentially threatening Broadcom's custom silicon business. The stock has fallen approximately 24% from its all-time high. However, Lai suggests many concerns may already be priced in, creating an attractive entry point. In April, Anthropic partnered with Google and Broadcom to secure next-generation TPU capacity for training its Claude AI models. Broadcom's AI semiconductor revenue surged 221% year-over-year to $16.7 billion in fiscal Q3 2026. Management projects AI semiconductor revenue could reach $115 billion in fiscal 2027 and potentially $230 billion in fiscal 2028. The Anthropic partnership could provide crucial revenue visibility whilst strengthening Broadcom's position in custom AI silicon and networking.
