Civil Project Engineer
On-site Monday through Thursday and Friday mornings; occasional evening and weekend work may be required.
About the job
- A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil Engineering is required.
- A Professional Engineer (PE) license is required.
- At least 5 years of experience in civil engineering design is required.
- Strong experience with AutoCAD and Civil 3D software applications is required.
- Progressive experience in planning, design, and permitting of civil site development and drainage improvement projects is required.
- Strong understanding of stormwater hydraulics and hydrology is required.
- Experience preparing grading plans, drainage reports, and construction documents is required.
- Ability to write technical specifications and bid documents is required.
- Ability to communicate effectively in writing and verbally and interact with clients is required.
- Ability to manage multiple assignments and appropriately prioritize workflow is required.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail are required.
- Strong time management skills and ability to meet deadlines are required.
- A client-service-oriented mindset and ability to work independently and as part of a team are required.
- Perform civil site design for land development projects, including water, sewer, and storm drainage infrastructure.
- Prepare engineering calculations, grading plans, drainage reports, and construction documents.
- Lead permitting efforts and coordinate with local and state regulatory agencies.
- Develop technical specifications and bid documents for construction projects.
- Manage and execute project tasks to meet scope, schedule, and quality goals.
- Coordinate with clients, contractors, and internal multidisciplinary teams throughout project delivery.
- Perform construction administration activities, including site visits and coordination with contractors.
- Use AutoCAD Civil 3D to model and refine designs.
