NFU Mutual selects Bloomberg and Clearwater to modernise operating model. 23 September 2026 UK Reporter: Madison Hendrickson NFU Mutual (NFUM), a UK-based rural insurer, has selected Bloomberg Buy-Side Solutions and Clearwater Analytics' to streamline its front-to-back multi-asset investment management operating model. The firm reports that Bloomberg will provide portfolio management, trading, pre-trade compliance, and trade operations - including workflows to support T+1 settlement readiness - while Clearwater will provide investment operations and accounting. Speaking on the integration, Nigel Bryan, head of Financial Control at NFU Mutual, says: "By adopting Bloomberg and Clearwater's integrated solutions, we are building an automated and highly flexible end-to-end operating model that strengthens our control environment, streamlines processes and builds a solid data foundation for our investment reporting." Bryan adds: "The solution automates key workflows across the investment lifecycle, from order generation and execution through matching, settlement, and post-trade processing." According to NFUM, Bloomberg's collaboration with Clearwater enables NFUM to establish a seamless, flexible front-to-back composable operating model that improves workflow efficiency, strengthens data consistency and transaction reporting, and accelerates settlement cycles. Jose Ribas, head of Buy-Side Enterprise Solutions at Bloomberg, comments: "Insurers are modernising their investment operations by connecting portfolio management, trading, accounting, and post-trade reporting around a single, trusted framework." He explains that together with Clearwater, Bloomberg is helping NFUM to "simplify complex workflows, strengthen data consistency, and utilise a composable operating model that can scale with its business". Keith Viverito, managing director, EMEA at Clearwater Analytics, adds: "NFU Mutual's selection shows that insurers no longer need to choose between operational depth and technological agility.
