Requirements
  • A Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering with 4 or more years of job-related experience; or a degree or diploma in Engineering Technology or a related technical field with 6 or more years of experience.
  • Thorough knowledge of standards and testing procedures.
  • Knowledge of CSA and ANSI Standards, including ANSI Z21.20, Z21.21:23, Z21.78, CSA 22.2, 6.5:23, 6.2, E60730-1, and IEC 60730-2-5.
  • Thorough knowledge of CSA certification options, programs, and services applicable to a variety of equipment.
Responsibilities
  • Independently manage certification projects concurrently, ensuring compliance with all applicable safety requirements and achieving completion within time frames and cost deadlines.
  • Evaluate products against the requirements of national and international standards and precedent decisions.
  • Review the work of others and demonstrate technical competency in the applicable certification programs.
  • Accurately perform evaluation and review of complex, unique, or unusual product types.
  • Manage multiple projects concurrently while maintaining on-time and on-budget performance.
  • Maintain high productivity in line with company expectations.
  • Review test data and reports and authorize application of Certification Marks.
  • Prepare or sign Certification Reports and Certificates of Compliance.
  • Conduct construction evaluations, ensuring units comply with the construction section of the standard and identifying the rationale for compliance or non-compliance.
  • Collaborate with a Lab Technician to create work orders specifying the required tests, test order, and number of samples.

  • Computer proficiency with Microsoft Office.
  • Use of various laboratory equipment, instruments, and tools.

TORONTO – CSA Group has announced the opening of an accredited, special-purpose laboratory dedicated to testing and certifying the safety of medical-grade PPE. Until now, there have been no domestic providers of testing and certification services for medical-grade PPE.
