A US District Court has ordered Syntel, part of Atos Group, to pay $236.9 million (€204.1 million) to Cognizant subsidiary TriZetto, marking a new stage in litigation dating back to 2015, before Atos acquired Syntel in 2018. The court confirmed a jury's June 2025 finding of $70 million in compensatory damages and reduced punitive damages to $140 million, subject to TriZetto's acceptance. The court also awarded $27 million in attorneys' fees and pre-judgment interest at 9% from January 2018. TriZetto must state by 10 April whether it accepts the reduced punitive damages award. Atos Group said it will review the decision and reserves its right to appeal, adding the ruling does not materially impact its assets, business or financial condition.
Atos, a global leader in AI-powered digital transformation, is launching technology services to support CONMEBOL's new digital ecosystem ahead of the federation's club competition draws. The deployment marks the operational start of CONMEBOL's next-generation platform designed to enhance fan experience and accelerate digital transformation. The unified digital ecosystem connects official websites, mobile applications and a consolidated digital identity framework, enabling CONMEBOL to build a proprietary fan database. Key features include a Gaming Hub for interactive experiences, an enhanced Match Centre with real-time data and statistics, and personalised content powered by unified digital identities. The services follow the 2025 strategic partnership naming Atos as Official Innovation Partner for CONMEBOL club competitions. The platform aims to deliver value across the federation's ecosystem whilst strengthening club visibility.
