Requirements
  • A master's degree with at least five years of management experience in social services or behavioral health.
  • A license aligned with the master's degree, such as Licensed Master Social Worker or Licensed Professional Counselor.
  • Experience working with people diagnosed with mental illness and people struggling with substance use and co-occurring disorders.
  • Experience working in a respite, residential, or 24-hour crisis program.
  • Effective written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to provide in-service training to program staff.
  • Computer literacy, including Excel, Teams, Windows, and Outlook.
  • Experience working with children, youth, and/or families.
  • Ability to work evenings and/or weekends.
  • Knowledge of substance use and mental illness as they relate to working with families, youth, children, and adults.
  • Ability to work as a member of an interdisciplinary team and relate to diverse staff and client populations.
  • Ability to review clinical notes within appropriate timelines.
Responsibilities
  • Provide supervision to respite peer specialists and senior peer specialists.
  • Coordinate day-to-day operations and promote the safety, well-being, and comfort of guests.
  • Supervise all program staff in conjunction with the Regional Director when the Program Director is absent.
  • Maintain familiarity with Office of Mental Health regulations and scope.
  • Provide direct supervision of program staff and report necessary follow-ups to the Program Director.
  • Establish connections with managed care organizations regarding notification sheets, follow-ups, clinicals, and discharge clinicals for client stays.
  • Assist with completing guest service plans and oversee daily operations when the Program Director is absent.
  • Coordinate weekly utilization reviews with the management team and submit reports and recommendations to the Program Director and Regional Director.
  • Coordinate with referring providers as needed.
  • Participate in guest discharge planning, collateral contacts, and safety planning.
  • Provide emergency and relief coverage as necessary.
  • Represent the agency and program in community outreach and presentations.
  • Prepare billing, physical plant, food and supplies order, and service authorization reports.
  • Ensure the safety and security of program guests and staff by reporting damages and necessary upgrades promptly and informing the Program Director of concerns.
  • Ensure completion of utilization reviews, guest surveys, community meetings, outreach, food and supplies orders, fire drills, progress notes, follow-ups, supervisions, chart reviews, and accurate documentation by appropriate staff members.
  • Ensure the program remains audit ready.
  • Participate in team meetings concerning guest safety planning, goal attainment, collateral contacts, and discharge planning.
  • Provide on-call coverage 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
  • Prepare weekly and monthly reports for the Program Director, including problems, proposed policy or program-design changes, guest reviews, and bed-utilization reports.
  • Ensure daily operations are managed and staff workflow meets program requirements.
  • Secure full occupancy of the Supportive Crisis Stabilization Center while meeting length-of-stay requirements.
  • Complete staff timesheets weekly and approve vacation and time-off requests when needed.
  • Review policies every two months to ensure program compliance.
  • Provide staff training and in-service sessions as needed to promote job effectiveness and performance.
  • Perform additional duties as requested.
