ERG’s Clean Transportation Group is seeking an Entry-Level Transportation Data Analyst to contribute to our emissions inventory efforts. In this role, you’ll utilize transportation data to assess and quantify emissions generated by cars, motorcycles, trucks, and buses. Responsibilities include analyzing and interpreting data to identify emission trends and support emissions reduction strategies. Ideal candidates will have a passion for environmental sustainability, strong communications and analytical skills, and proficiency in data analysis tools such as Python, R, Java, MATLAB, Perl, MySQL, and Microsoft Office. Job Description:
- Learn to use and apply the United States Environmental Protection Agency (U.S. EPA) Motor Vehicle Emission Simulator (MOVES) model
- Create new scripts and adapt existing scripts in Python to analyze large, complex transportation datasets
- Write up and present results of analyses and project tasks
- Support Clean Transportation projects as needed
Qualifications and Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in a technical discipline, including engineering, mathematics, or science
- 0 to 3 years’ of professional experience
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Analytical and independent problem-solving skills
- Exceptional time management skills
- Must have excellent attention to detail
