Requirements
  • A Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering is required.
  • A Professional Engineer license in the State of Washington is required.
  • Experience as a Resident Engineer on transit, rail, and highway projects is required.
  • At least 10 years of experience is required.
  • A valid driver's license is required to fulfill the essential functions of the position.
Responsibilities
  • Act as Owner Agent, with little or no supervision, to provide construction management and inspection services for a wide variety of projects, potentially including transportation and transit facilities.
  • Develop construction documents, procedures, and criteria for assignments that may not be clearly defined.
  • Oversee multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Conduct and document project meetings with clients.
  • Manage construction field personnel, including teaming partners.
  • Negotiate and approve construction change orders.
  • Respond to Requests for Information (RFIs).
  • Prepare proposals and presentations.
  • Prepare and monitor project schedules and budgets.
  • Prepare and issue reports and correspondence.
  • Approve quantities for measurement and payment purposes.
  • Approve construction payment applications.
  • Resolve technical issues.
  • Perform constructability reviews and value engineering studies.
  • Lead Risk Management assessments.
  • Prepare and monitor Quality Control and Assurance Plans.
  • Develop Standard Operating Procedures.
Desired Qualifications
  • CCM certification is preferred.
  • Experience with Primavera P6 is preferred.
  • Completion of a 10-hour OSHA Safety course is preferred.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook, is preferred.
  • Good oral and written communication skills are preferred.
