Requirements
  • Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering or higher, is required
  • 10 + years of progressive experience designing and delivering IL transportation projects
  • Licensed Project Engineer (P.E) in the state of Illinois.
  • Experience as project manager or lead roadway engineer on IDOT projects
  • Experience working with clients such as State and County Departments of Transportation and municipal.
  • Proficient at using MicroStation and/or Inroads (Open Roads Designer)
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with local management to strategize and implement project pursuits and delivery efforts.
  • Devise and implement strategies for capturing project opportunities, including teaming arrangements and strategic positioning, while identifying necessary staff resources for successful project acquisition and delivery.
  • Build and nurture relationships with both external and internal clients.
  • Supervise and guide staff to facilitate smooth design and plan development processes.
  • Engage in the design phases of roadways, highways, and interstates, overseeing projects from preliminary to final design stages.
  • Create plans, specifications, reports, and cost estimates in accordance with project requirements.
  • Coordinate with reviewers and other disciplines to ensure the accuracy and quality of work.
  • Contribute to the development of proposals for project pursuits.
  • Provide direct support to Project Managers and Design Leaders.
  • Effectively manage and organize project documentation.
  • Collaborate within a dynamic team to fulfill project requirements and deliver a high-quality design to the client.
