Requirements
  • A high school diploma or GED is required.

Responsibilities
  • Answer, screen, and process incoming calls professionally.
  • Direct patient access to the department by greeting, scheduling, checking in, and canceling patient appointments for multiple providers.
  • Follow department and hospital guidelines and accurately update patient demographic and insurance information during scheduling and check-in.
  • Follow phone scripts, clinical decision trees, and scheduling criteria to determine appointment type and urgency within the scope of training.
  • Schedule patients with the appropriate provider or triage calls according to department guidelines.
  • Send accurate and complete communication emails to physicians and other healthcare providers.
  • Take appropriate actions to diffuse challenging situations and seek assistance from a supervisor or others when encountering unpredictable patient situations or behaviors.
Desired Qualifications
  • An associate's degree is preferred.
  • Prior experience in customer service-related roles is preferred.

Beth Israel Lahey Health rolls out Heidi's AI scribing to all physicians after 90% report better patient presence

Beth Israel Lahey Health is rolling out Heidi's ambient AI scribing tool to all its physicians following a successful trial across its facilities. The health system, which serves over 6,000 providers across 14 hospitals and 175 primary care practices, prioritises addressing physician burnout, with nearly half of US physicians reporting burnout. During a six-month trial offering Heidi to 1,000 providers, the majority adopted the technology. Survey results showed 89% were satisfied with note quality, 90% felt more present with patients, 74% reduced after-hours work time, and 82% experienced reduced cognitive load during visits. The implementation demonstrates how ambient AI can deliver immediate relief to physicians whilst benefiting patients and the healthcare system. Heidi supports over 2 million consultations weekly globally and has raised $96.6 million from investors including Point72 Private Investments and Blackbird.
