Requirements
  • Possess a strong understanding of the principles of animation.
  • Knowledge of applicable software packages including Maya is required.
  • Most desired 2 year diploma or 1 year certificate; however minimal requirement of 2-3 years of relevant experience may be accepted.
  • Must be able to provide a demo reel that illustrates relevant artistic and technical experience for the role.
Responsibilities
  • Creates animated characters and objects that meet required direction.
  • Animate both primary and secondary characters using traditional methods and computer graphics to achieve desired performance within a shot.
  • Convey emotion through body language and facial expressions/dialog as required by each project.
  • Meet schedules and show deadlines; participate in dailies, rounds and team reviews of work in progress.
  • Interact with production, supervisors and team/peers to problem solve and share information related to show/assigned tasks.
  • Decipher shot turnovers, dailies, briefings/notes and feedback; follow through on these items.
  • Work efficiently as part of a team or independently to determine various design solutions.
  • Able to animate multiple types of shots from simple to moderately difficult.
Desired Qualifications
  • Background or experience in fine art which shows a thorough understanding of physical motion, weight, balance and form is highly desired.
  • Knowledge of human and animal anatomy as well as life drawing skills are desirable.
