Production Packaging Associate
About the job
- Basic mathematical skills are required.
- Basic computer experience is required.
- Completion of Altium Production/Packaging Associate I training is required within 90 days of hire.
- The employee must be able to frequently stand, walk, grasp, handle, feel, and reach with hands and arms; occasionally climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and frequently lift, push, pull, or move up to 50 pounds.
- The employee works around moving mechanical parts in a production environment, in usually loud conditions and temperatures that fluctuate with seasonal changes. Personal protective equipment is required in the production department and other designated areas.
- Reasonable mandatory overtime may be required due to business needs.
- Wear correct personal protective equipment and follow safety policies.
- Arrive punctually and adhere to the work schedule.
- Follow company General Manufacturing Policies and Good Manufacturing Practices.
- Keep the work area neat, clean, and organized.
- Monitor conveyor belts and clear bottle jams from production lines.
- Pick up dropped bottles from the production floor and place them into designated bins.
- Place discarded bottles into a grinder, if applicable.
- Inspect bottle quality during production, packaging, and labeling, including performing drop tests on designated lines.
- Immediately escalate bottle abnormalities, defects, and quality issues.
- Monitor packaging material supplies and replenish them as needed.
- Ensure correct labeling, bottle description, and packaging according to specific customer requirements.
- Move finished goods to the designated area.
- Set up and organize workstations efficiently, maintain inventory levels, and restock supplies to facilitate smooth shift transitions.
- Perform other duties as assigned by management; duties may vary by plant according to equipment and plant design.
- A high school diploma or general education degree (GED) is preferred.
