Project Manager
About the job
- A Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or Business Administration.
- Three to ten years of construction management or engineering design experience.
- Proficiency using Word, Excel, Outlook, and Microsoft Project.
- Lead and coordinate the managerial and administrative aspects of projects from preconstruction through closeout.
- Work with clients and the design team to develop preliminary concept drawings and project budgets.
- Participate in client proposal meetings to review scope of work, discuss cost-reduction options, provide value-engineering ideas, and negotiate contracts and fees.
- Oversee subcontractor selection and the buyout process for trades and vendors.
- Identify and investigate opportunities to procure materials or specialty equipment directly when advantageous to project budget or schedule.
- Develop and review subcontractor scopes of work and contracts, project schedules, and site logistics plans.
- Lead preconstruction planning meetings with designers, subcontractors, and vendors to address constructability, sequencing, and manpower issues.
- Lead weekly or bi-weekly on-site OAC meetings during construction to review progress and address challenges with the client.
- Track and manage project performance against budget; prepare owner pay applications, cost status reports, and progress billing reports.
- Travel locally to project sites within the Dallas area.
- Previous experience leading municipality and utility projects.
