Requirements
  • Extensive experience working with senior military officers and managing complex military programs.
  • Familiarity with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within the field.
  • Experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals, with creativity and latitude.
  • Demonstrated customer service skills and proficiency using routine office equipment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, and in web-based applications.
  • A SOCM graduate who held a grade no lower than Sergeant, a Combat Medic, or an instructor in a USSOCOM medical pipeline course.
  • U.S. citizenship is required.
  • Must currently possess or be able to obtain an active U.S. Secret clearance.
  • A Department of Motor Vehicles check is required.
  • For instructors of the Special Forces Medical Sergeant Skills Sustainment Course, must be an SFMS graduate and have served at least three years on an ODA, MSOT, SWCC, or SEAL Platoon.
  • Current Basic Life Support Provider certification.
  • Current Tactical Combat Casualty Care certification.
  • Current Advanced Cardiac Life Support Provider certification.
  • Current Pediatric Education for Pre-Hospital Professionals certification.
  • American Heart Association certification, completed within six weeks of hiring.
  • USSOCOM Advanced Tactical Practitioner requirements.
Responsibilities
  • Teach assigned classes as the primary instructor through large-group classroom instruction, small-group instruction, and hands-on training, including coordination with subject-matter experts teaching blocks in their areas.
  • Coordinate classes and prepare all facets of lesson plans with the Course Director according to Special Warfare Center & School guidance and standards or the supported offsite organization’s standards.
  • Develop and implement practical exercises and learning activities.
  • Assemble and maintain materials for blocks of instruction, including lesson plans and visitors’ folders.
  • Support curriculum and course development and make recommendations to ensure courses meet educational standards.
  • Generate course changes requiring Program of Instruction updates, rewrites, and redesigns when they exceed existing JSOMTC staff capacity.
  • Integrate required documentation and data into the Training Development Capability Database and other systems to align courses with USASOC and TRADOC requirements.

  • Emergency Medical Technician-Paramedic certification through NREMT, a U.S. jurisdiction, or USSOCOM Advanced Tactical Practitioner requirements.
