Requirements
  • Experience working in the Department of Defense aerospace and defense industry.
  • Ability to obtain a Secret security clearance at the time of hire.
Responsibilities
  • Manage all material activities necessary to meet program requirements and maintain coordination among Sourcing, Program Management, Engineering, Operations Program Management, and Planning.
  • Develop, coordinate, and execute program material strategies and revenue objectives.
  • Lead front-end business planning activities, including early material management and supplier involvement, in partnership with program, engineering, and operations leadership.
  • Develop and execute material program plans and subcontract management plans with Supply Chain.
  • Balance strategic thinking with tactical application of strategies to programs.
  • Work with Engineering, Quality, and Operations to create project schedules based on Material Requirements Planning.
  • Develop and lead planning-related proposal activities, including task descriptions and bases of estimates.
  • Develop accurate Bills of Materials from the technical baseline, control proposal-process changes, flow changes to material estimating, and develop strategies to obtain representative costs.
  • Partner with Product Management on obsolescence, long-lead, and last-time-buy material situations to meet program schedules.
  • Actively engage in proposals.
  • Manage material actual cost versus should cost.
  • Execute or coordinate make/buy/where processes.
  • Develop and execute risk and opportunity plans to meet program objectives.
  • Collaborate with Supply Chain functions to drive execution and provide support as needed.
  • Develop and monitor performance metrics and proactively address program and functional issues.
  • Perform Earned Value Management and financial management, including material Estimates at Completion and material forecasting.
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience with ASCM Certified in Production and Inventory Management or Certified Supply Chain Professional.
  • Strong planning experience.
  • Proficiency with enterprise resource planning and Material Requirements Planning business systems.
  • Experience with Microsoft Project.
  • Experience managing a budget.
  • Experience providing inputs into or reviewing Estimates at Completion.
  • Experience collaborating with a Subcontract Administrator to review complete statements of work that conform to program requirements.
  • Experience with electronics or aerospace hardware applications and knowledge of operational and manufacturing processes, including assembly, integration, and test.
  • Experience converting business-area and customer requirements into executable strategies.
  • Experience leading in an Integrated Program Team environment.
