Proof Technology automates the process serving workflow for legal teams through a web-based platform. Law firms and legal departments upload documents, monitor delivery progress, and receive delivery notifications to ensure transparency and accountability in service of legal papers. Revenue comes from a dual model: ongoing subscriptions for platform access and per-transaction fees for each service request. Unlike traditional process servers, Proof replaces manual, unreliable methods with an automated, trackable system, increasing efficiency and reliability in the service of process. The company’s goal is to streamline the process serving step in legal workflows, reducing delays and ensuring compliance as volumes scale.

What believers are saying

  • January 2024’s $30.4 million Series B gives runway for product expansion and AI.
  • February 2025 launch saved Filevine users 1,800 hours yearly, strengthening ROI messaging.
  • July 2026 SmartAdvocate integration opens 20,000+ legal professionals to immediate adoption.

What critics are saying

  • Clio, Filevine, and SmartAdvocate can squeeze Proof into a feature, not a platform.
  • Process serving remains operationally messy; server quality failures trigger affidavit defects and client churn.
  • If AI-native legal workflows bypass human service requests, ProofServe’s core marketplace becomes obsolete.

What makes Proof Technology unique

  • ProofServe’s 2,600+ vetted independent process servers create nationwide coverage in every jurisdiction.
  • The February 2025 Filevine extension cut service handling time 75% for law firms.
  • SmartAdvocate integration in July 2026 embeds service-of-process directly inside case management workflows.
