Simplify's Take

What believers are saying

  • Training spans the agency: PCCR runs development opportunities within individual programs, services and across the organization.
  • Vancouver support workers receive defined terms: the advertised adult-service role lists $27.53-$31.57 hourly pay and medical, dental and vision benefits.
  • Career tracks span delivery and management: PCCR describes entry-level support positions alongside coordinator and program manager roles.

What critics are saying

  • Home-sharing rates are externally constrained: Community Living BC sets the fees PCCR pays providers.
  • Vancouver support work carries health responsibilities: the role includes medication administration and recording personal health information.
  • Home-sharing contractors lack employee benefits: PCCR requires them to handle their own taxes and pension contributions.

What makes Pacific Coast Community Resources unique

  • Home placements prioritize compatibility: PCCR matches home-sharing participants and caregivers by personality, lifestyle and interests.
  • Employment support goes beyond job searches: PCCR supports customized employment, self-employment and social enterprise for participants.
  • External quality review is established: PCCR has held rehabilitation-service accreditation since 2004.
