Requirements
  • Proficiency operating a calculator, computer, PowerPoint, telephone, copy machine, and fax machine.
  • Ability to read, write legibly, and converse in English.
  • Regular, consistent, and punctual attendance at the assigned job location.
  • A bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Food & Nutrition or Dietetics.
  • Completion of an approved coordinated undergraduate program, dietetic internship, or approved master's program with qualifying work experience.
  • Registration as a registered dietitian or eligibility for registration, with registration required within one year.
  • A Dietitian license in the State of Oregon.
  • A current driver's license or the ability to obtain one within 30 days.
  • An Oregon Food Handler, Food Manager Certification, or ServSafe Certification, or the ability to obtain one within 30 days of hire.
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, squat, reach, and stretch frequently.
  • Physical agility and adequate reaction time to respond quickly and appropriately to unexpected patient care needs.
  • Adequate hearing and visual acuity, including adequate color vision.
  • Fine motor skills, adequate eye-hand coordination, and the ability to grasp and handle objects.
  • Ability to use proper body mechanics to assist patients in ambulating and transferring in and out of bed, chair, or wheelchair.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds when required.
  • Use of standard precautions due to potential exposure to blood and bodily fluids.
  • Ability to communicate effectively through reading, writing, and speaking in person or by telephone.
  • Ability to use a personal computer when required.

  • Provide clinical nutrition support, care, and information to patients and staff of Bay Area Hospital.
Desired Qualifications
  • Membership in the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics.
  • Certified Diabetic Educator certification.
  • Certified Oncology Nutrition Specialist certification.
  • Certified Nutrition Support Specialist certification.
  • One year of experience in clinical or community nutrition.
