A bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university that includes 30 credit hours in the natural sciences or a closely related field.
For Environmental Health Scientist II, three years of experience as a licensed Environmental Health Scientist.
For Environmental Health Scientist I, one year of related work experience.
Applicants must be licensed through the State of Utah as an Environmental Health Scientist.
Applicants must obtain and maintain certifications in an environmental health field and/or certifications applicable to the position.
For Environmental Health Technician, a bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university that includes 30 credit hours in the natural sciences or a closely related field.
Environmental Health Technician incumbents must obtain and thereafter maintain licensure through the State of Utah as an Environmental Health Scientist during the probationary period for new hires or the trial period for promoted County employees.
Responsibilities
Independently conduct sanitation inspections of eating establishments, commercial facilities, and public buildings under the general supervision of the Bureau Director of Environmental Health.
Inspect onsite sewage disposal and water systems to determine compliance with ordinances and laws designed to protect public health and safety.
Respond to and investigate complaints related to public health.
Conduct public education training related to environmental health.
Work in multiple functional areas or exclusively in one, as assigned by the Division Director of Environmental Health.
Desired Qualifications
Preference may be given to candidates who are bilingual in English and Spanish.

The Opportunity:

2. Three (3) years of experience as a licensed Environmental Health Scientist.
