Responsibilities
  • Assist the Grocery Manager and Grocery Third Person in operating the Grocery Department.
  • Assist with supervising and training personnel.
  • Perform ordering, receiving, storing, pricing, stocking, rotating and merchandising duties.
  • Assist in planning, organizing and directing the day-to-day operations of the Grocery Department.
  • Assist in implementing company and division merchandising policies and Store Director instructions.
  • Control shrink and prevent the sale of out-of-code products.
  • Ensure compliance with company sanitation, safety, security and other policies and initiate corrective action as needed.
  • Open and close the store.
  • Act as a backup cashier when needed.
  • Engage in suggestive selling and other sales techniques.
  • Handle customer relations positively, including effective resolution of customer complaints.
  • Champion company and division customer service programs to meet or exceed customer service goals.
  • Direct and control the operation of the entire store in the absence of the Store Director, Grocery Manager and Grocery Third Person.
  • Perform all job duties with accuracy, honesty and integrity.
  • Perform other necessary duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Albertsons closes 20 stores, cuts hundreds of jobs after $24.6B Kroger merger blocked

Albertsons is closing additional stores and cutting jobs nationwide following the collapse of its $24.6 billion merger with Kroger. Albertsons closes 120-year-old Vons grocery store in California, cuts 65 jobs
