Aescape is seeking a Staff or Principal level platform software engineer to join our Robotics Platform team. We have a pipeline of architecture and systems software work and are looking for a stand out engineer to join us!
This role is based in the San Francisco Bay Area

What You’ll Do
Design and execute services and infrastructure to support a robotics platform including:
State management
Performance
Networking
System bringup
Remote diagnostics
System logging and messaging
Drive and lead design discussions cross functionally.
Drive and lead productive peer code reviews.
Collaborate cross functionally to define engineering requirements and cross functional dependencies.
What You’ll Bring
A collaborative, curious engineer who enjoys solving difficult problems. Someone who’s driven and has a sense of responsibility and ownership, but values collaboration and the relationships you’ll build in the team and cross functionally.
5 or more years hands on experience in software engineering on a production level product
Experience with networking such as MQTT and other IoT protocols.
Experience with performance and optimization on a distributed system, preferable with RTOS.
Experience building distributed fault tolerant services.
Strong programming skills and experience including multi-threading, concurrency, caching, batching and messaging.
Fluency in modern C++ and Object-oriented design patterns in both modern or embedded Linux environment (Ubuntu, Yocto, etc).
Experience with service oriented architectures.
Experience with cloud infrastructure – AWS, GCP or Azure.
Experience with System Administration.
Strong, proactive communication.
Great To Have But Not Required
Experience with Python and or Golang.
Experience with Hardware in the loop testing support.
Experience with ROS in drones, autonomous cars or medical device robots .

Competitive pay + bonus + equity plan. The salary range for the role is $185,000-$250,000.
