We’re looking for a skilled Quality Engineer with experience developing consumer products to join our devices team.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Responsible for new product introduction quality, manufacturing quality, and field quality.
- Partner with product development, manufacturing, and contract manufacturing teams to identify quality improvement opportunities in future products, initiate proposals, build alignment and drive to resolution.
- Use DFMEA and PFMEA methodologies with the engineering design and manufacturing teams to identify risks and implement solutions.
- Responsible for vendor implementation of inspection processes across all fabrication nodes.
- Lead Failure Analysis and determine root-cause of product failures.
- Work closely with PD team to conduct failure analysis, determine root-cause of product failures, implement corrective actions, and roll out inspection procedures to prevent reoccurrence.
- Work directly with manufacturing partners to evaluate and maintain product yields.
- Work with the data analytics team to develop monitoring dashboards with quantitative metrics to report on product quality.
- Develop new suppliers and setup processes to maintain quality through scaling.
- Will work directly with overseas manufacturing partners in Asia involving evening calls international travel up to 25%.
What Were Looking For
- 7+ years working in the development and manufacturing of consumer electronics
- Strong fundamentals in high volume manufacturing of consumer electronic products.
- Experience with statistical analysis and data handling including Minitab, Excel and JMP/Tableau.
- Strong understanding of sampling lot size significance, including familiarity with ISO 2859 quality standard and AQL levels.
- Knowledge in FMEA Process, Design of Experiments, Statistical Process Control, and Reliability Models.
- Experience implementing DFMEA and PFMEA methodologies into the development life cycle
- Strong communication skills with ability to clearly articulate quality issues for technical and non-technical members of the team as well as manufacturing partners.
- Demonstrated experience working in a highly collaborative environment with cross-functional teams, including EE, PD, ME, GSM and Ops.
- Ability to work effectively under tight deadlines.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical, Electrical or Industrial Engineering
