About the company

Definitive Networks focuses on public-safety IT and municipal IT consulting, providing mission-critical network design, cybersecurity, infrastructure, field connectivity, and private-cloud hosting. It designs, implements, and maintains networks with 24/7/365 support, including endpoint protection, email/web security, identity and vendor access management, and station alerting systems that speed emergency response. Its differences include a strong emphasis on CJIS and HIPAA compliance, a shared private-cloud platform to reduce total cost of ownership, and specialized station alerting and rapid CAD parsing for first responders. The goal is to deliver secure, reliable, and scalable IT services that align technology with clients’ missions and improve response times through compliant, shared infrastructure and ongoing strategic partnerships.

What critics are saying

  • Alameda County provided $22.4 million since 2022; concentration risk is severe.

  • Any CAD outage or breach would endanger dispatch trust and destroy the company’s public-safety franchise.

What makes Definitive Networks unique

  • DNI runs sole-source EMS and CAD systems for Alameda County through June 2028.
  • Its private cloud serves fire departments with hardened, redundant facilities and 24/7 support.
  • DNI combines network engineering, HIPAA reporting, and legacy ePCR hosting for public safety agencies.
