Requirements
  • You have gained relevant experience in compliance. You have at least 5 years of experience in these areas, ideally within an investment firm, FinTech, or another regulated financial institution.
  • You are fluent in both German and English (written and spoken) and can communicate clearly across legal, technical, and business teams.
  • You have a solid understanding of the German and European regulatory landscape, particularly WpIG, MaRisk, MaComp, and MiFID II.
  • You enjoy translating regulation into action. You are compliance-minded yet solution-oriented – you understand regulatory risk but also how to enable the business to move forward safely and efficiently.
  • You like building smart, scalable processes from scratch rather than waiting for the perfect system to arrive.
  • You are curious about innovation and the role of technology and AI in compliance, whether it’s for automating monitoring tasks, detecting risks faster, or improving documentation.
  • You thrive in fast-paced, highly regulated environments and are ready to take ownership from day one.
  • You bring a structured, hands-on mindset, believe in feedback loops and continuous improvement, and enjoy working collaboratively with product, engineering, and legal stakeholders.
Responsibilities
  • Build and evolve our MaRisk-compliant Compliance Management System, shaping the compliance framework at lemon.markets.
  • Conduct compliance risk analyses, run monitoring and testing, and ensure timely remediation and clear, audit-ready documentation.
  • Develop and maintain internal compliance policies, procedures, and processes in line with German and European regulations (MaRisk, MaComp, WpIG, MiFID II).
  • Track regulatory updates (e.g. BaFin, ESMA, EBA) and translate them into actionable internal processes, communication, and training.
  • Partner with Product, Engineering, and Operations to embed compliance into products and processes from day one, and act as a regulatory sparring partner across the business.
  • Use technology and automation to enhance monitoring, streamline documentation, and identify emerging risks.
Desired Qualifications
  • Curiosity about innovation and the role of technology and AI in compliance, whether it’s for automating monitoring tasks, detecting risks faster, or improving documentation.
