- Credentialed Veterinary Technician qualification, such as Licensed Veterinary Technician, Certified Veterinary Technician, or Registered Veterinary Technician.
- Two to three or more years of clinical experience in small animal veterinary medicine.
- Proper vaccine handling, storage, and reconstitution skills.
- Intramuscular and subcutaneous administration techniques.
- Proper vaccine and injection-site selection.
- Sharps safety and appropriate disposal practices.
- Emergency response and basic cardiopulmonary resuscitation procedures.
- Safe restraint and handling of dogs and cats.
- Ability to recognize and appropriately respond to potential vaccine reactions and other medical concerns.
- Strong understanding of veterinary medical records and documentation.
- Ability to work under the supervision and protocols of a licensed veterinarian.

- Engage with pet owners through in-person communications by providing support, education, and guidance about their pets’ health and well-being.
- Administer canine and/or feline vaccines.
- Appropriately update patient records.
- Provide feedback to improve processes, systems, and workflows.
- Participate in training, process improvement, telehealth initiatives, compliance, and team development.
- Provide empathetic, high-quality client care while following clinical protocols and adapting to each case.
