- An active license and registration with the New York State Department of Health are required.
- CAT scan certification is required.
- Certification from the Nuclear Medicine Technologist Certification Board or certification in nuclear medicine from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists is required.

- Graduation from an accredited Nuclear Medicine Technologist program is required.
