About the job

Requirements
  • At least 10 years of experience building and running production software while continuing to write code.
  • Depth in system design and architecture, including scalability, performance, distributed systems, and reliability.
  • A track record of setting technical direction across several teams or one large, long-running program.
  • Ability to quickly navigate an unfamiliar codebase, with deep expertise in at least one programming language and comfort with several.
  • Hands-on experience building LLM-based systems, including AI APIs and prompt and context design, plus at least one of agents, retrieval-augmented generation, or evaluation.
  • Judgment about when not to build something, when to pay down technical debt, and when to say no.
  • Ability to mentor senior engineers and influence them without formal authority.
  • Comfort working directly with clients and non-engineering stakeholders.
Responsibilities
  • Own architecture and design decisions on the hardest systems in the portfolio.
  • Write code, prototype, and debug alongside teams.
  • Review high-risk implementations and raise the engineering bar through the work.
  • Identify where AI is valuable, build solutions properly, and make successful approaches reusable by other teams.
  • Work with Tech Leads on scalability, performance, reliability, and technical debt.
  • Evaluate new technology, prototype it, make a recommendation, and document the reasoning.
  • Work with clients and non-engineering stakeholders to turn vague problems into technical direction.
  • Design systems, write code, prototype ideas, debug difficult failures, review implementations, and work alongside engineers and Tech Leads where deeper expertise is needed.
  • Apply LLMs, AI APIs, agents, retrieval-augmented generation, and evaluation to internal engineering problems and client products.
  • Document lessons from AI implementations so other teams can adopt them.
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience building production AI systems at scale, including evaluation harnesses, guardrails, and cost and latency tuning.
  • Depth in data platforms, cybersecurity, robotics, or enterprise systems.
  • Experience with internal tooling or platform work that improved other teams’ productivity.
  • Open-source contributions, conference talks, or technical writing.
  • Experience with Python, Go, Node.js, Java, cloud-native technologies such as AWS or GCP, Docker, or Kubernetes.

What believers are saying

  • May 22, 2026 partnership with SYNAOS and Phenikaa-X opens Vietnam autonomous logistics deals.
  • Gradion says it is expanding VDA5050 onboarding services across APAC in 2026.
  • Its site claims 1,000 solutions shipped and 50-plus production deployments daily, signaling operating scale.

What critics are saying

  • Gradion depends on partner-heavy delivery; SYNAOS or Phenikaa-X can bypass it by 2027.
  • Consulting revenue stays fragile if ACE cannot convert pilots into repeat factory deployments.
  • Industrial automation integration commoditizes fast; cheaper local integrators undercut Gradion on implementation margins.

What makes GRADION unique

  • Gradion traces to NFQ, bringing 23 years and 320 engineers across five countries.
  • Gradion co-founded ACE in Binh Duong, anchoring factory-floor automation execution in Vietnam.
  • Gradion owns VDA5050 integration expertise, connecting robot vendors, orchestration software, and industrial systems.

Gradion, SYNAOS, and Phenikaa-X announce partnership to deliver integrated autonomous logistics in Vietnam.

Gradion, SYNAOS, and Phenikaa-X announce partnership to deliver integrated autonomous logistics in Vietnam. Derek Nguyen 22 May 2026 Ho Chi Minh City, May 2026 - Gradion, SYNAOS, and Phenikaa-X announced a formal partnership to deliver end-to-end autonomous intralogistics solutions to industrial players in Vietnam. The collaboration combines advanced fleet orchestration software, locally manufactured mobile robot hardware, and on-the-ground VDA5050 integration expertise, giving warehouse and factory operators a structured path to scalable automation. Partnership structure. The three companies address the full delivery chain across three distinct capabilities: SYNAOS provides the software intelligence layer. Their Intralogistics Platform delivers advanced fleet orchestration, enabling operators to manage diverse robot ecosystems across complex industrial environments without manufacturer lock-in. Phenikaa-X supplies the hardware layer. A Vietnam-based manufacturer of autonomous mobile robots, Phenikaa-X produces Level 4/5 autonomous vehicles, automated guided vehicles (AGVs), and industrial mobile robots (IMRs) designed for modern manufacturing environments. Gradion leads the project execution. As a digital consultancy, Gradion delivers VDA 5050 technical integration, the open communication standard that enables hardware and software from different vendors to operate as a unified system. Gradion acts as the connecting layer between platform intelligence and physical deployment. "Vietnam's industrial sector has the infrastructure investment and the operational ambition- what it has lacked is an integrated delivery model," said Jennifer Fieres, Head of Industry Solutions, Gradion. "This partnership closes that gap. Operators no longer need to choose between best-in-class software and locally proven hardware. They are both fully integrated and production-ready." Scope of work. This partnership is built on technical precision and strategic growth aimed at the next generation of companies. It covers the full spectrum of technology consulting, business optimization, and implementation support to move beyond simple delivery toward meaningful transformation. Beyond Vietnam, Gradion is expanding its VDA 5050 onboarding services across the APAC region to address growing demand for interoperability standards in smart manufacturing and warehouse management. Business impact. The primary outcome of this alliance is measurable operational efficiency for industrial operators. By removing the dependency on single-vendor robot ecosystems, clients gain the flexibility to scale automation without the constraints of proprietary hardware lock-in, providing the clarity needed to scale with intelligence. Gradion builds systems designed to generate revenue or reduce costs for the businesses it serves. This partnership applies that standard to autonomous logistics: not one-off pilots, but production-grade deployments built to perform at scale. Take it further. This partnership is built for operators who are done running pilots. If your facility is ready for production-grade automation, Gradion's VDA 5050 integration team is the place to start.
