Yellow Card secures top Diamond honor at 2026 Money20/20 Money Awards.

Yellow Card secures top Diamond honor at 2026 Money20/20 Money Awards. Yellow Card has secured the Gold award in the Diamond category at the 2026 Money Awards in Las Vegas. For fintech professionals, this second consecutive win signals the successful transition of a stablecoin infrastructure provider from an emerging markets specialist to a global player capable of competing on the industry's largest stage. What was announced. Yellow Card received the Gold award in the Diamond category at the 2026 Money Awards, held on Sunday, 18 October, during the Money20/20 USA event in Las Vegas. This recognition follows the company's 2025 Grand Prix win in the Payments category. The Diamond category is designated by Money20/20 as the program's highest honor, intended to celebrate transformative achievements in global fintech. The award comes during a period of significant expansion for the stablecoin infrastructure provider. Over the past year, Yellow Card secured $40 million in strategic funding and expanded its operations into North America, Latin America, and Asia-Pacific. The company also obtained AML regulatory affiliation in Switzerland. These moves coincide with the firm being named to Fortune's inaugural Crypto Innovators list in June. A key technical milestone contributing to the recognition is the launch of Global Accounts. This feature allows businesses to open named USD, GBP, and EUR accounts, connecting them to local payment rails in more than 190 countries via a single API or the company's Treasury Portal. This infrastructure is designed to facilitate cross-border money movement for corporate and financial institutions, moving beyond the company's initial focus on retail or regional markets. "When we started the business almost ten years ago, we had big ambitions, but we couldn't have imagined just how far this journey would take us." Chris Maurice, CEO and Co-Founder of Yellow Card. The companies involved. Yellow Card is a global stablecoin infrastructure provider that has evolved from its origins in emerging markets to serve large corporate and financial institutions. The company focuses on building technology that simplifies cross-border money movement using stablecoin rails. It has recently expanded its footprint into major global markets including Canada and Switzerland to support its international treasury and account services. The firm is led by CEO Chris Maurice and CTO Justin Poiroux. Money20/20, the organizer of the Money Awards, is a major global fintech conference brand owned by Informa. It serves as a primary gathering point for the financial services industry, hosting annual events in the United States, Europe, and Asia. The Money Awards program is designed to highlight innovation and leadership within the sector, with the Diamond category representing the pinnacle of its recognition structure. Informa, the parent company of Money20/20, is a FTSE 100 international events, digital services, and academic publishing group. What FF News has reported before. FF News has closely tracked Yellow Card's trajectory, recently reporting on its expansion into North America via the launch of Alkepay in Canada. This move was followed by the strategic appointment of former Monzo executive Ross Everett as Group CFO to oversee global expansion efforts and financial strategy. The 2026 Money Awards have also been a focus of recent coverage. FF News previously highlighted the announcement of the 2026 finalists and provided a comprehensive look at the full list of winners following the ceremony in Las Vegas, where Yellow Card was among the top honorees. What this means. Yellow Card's back-to-back wins at Money20/20 suggest a shift in how the industry views stablecoin infrastructure. No longer relegated to the fringes of the digital asset space, these technologies are being recognized as legitimate, transformative tools for global treasury management. By securing $40 million in funding and expanding its reach to 190 countries, Yellow Card is putting pressure on traditional correspondent banking networks that have historically struggled with the speed and cost of cross-border settlement. The move into Switzerland and North America raises a critical question for the sector: can stablecoin-native firms maintain their agility while meeting the rigorous AML and regulatory standards of the world's most established financial hubs? Blackstone to sell ICE Barcelona organizer Clarion to UK's Informa in US$2.97 billion deal.

Blackstone to sell ICE Barcelona organizer Clarion to UK's Informa in US$2.97 billion deal. UK events and media company Informa will acquire events rival Clarion -organizer of the world's largest gaming industry trade show ICE Barcelona - from private equity giant Blackstone in a £2.24 billion (US$2.97 billion) deal. In an overnight announcement, Informa said it was also separating its Academic Markets business in order to focus on its core B2B business, with the acquisition of Clarion "further reinforcing its position as the leading operator of B2B Live Events." Clarion will, it added, bring a leading portfolio of over 100 B2B brands including eight marquee brands with revenue of over US$30 million and eight power Brands with revenue of between US$10 million and US$30 million. This will take Informa's portfolio of marquee and power brands to over 100 while giving it immediate entry into three high growth strategic categories, including gaming courtesy of ICE Barcelona and iGB Live. The others are electronics via the world's largest consumer electronics event, IFA Berlin and Defence/Security through leading international brand, DSEI. "Informa is today accelerating the focus on our core B2B business, as we announce plans to separate our Academic Markets business, Taylor & Francis," said Informa's Group CEO, Stephen A. Carter. "The planned separation of Taylor & Francis coincides with further expansion in B2B through the £2.24 billion acquisition of Clarion, the UK-based owner of more than 100 B2B Live Event brands. The combination will underscore Informa as the UK-listed, international leader in B2B Live Events, with annual Group revenues exceeding US$6 billion and underlying revenue growth of 7%-plus." Informa said the acquisition of Clarion will be funded through a mixture of committed acquisition financing and the net proceeds of a around £940 million (US$1.25 billion) equity placing. Clarion has, the company explained, been valued at an enterprise value of £2.24 billion including some tax benefits, representing a pre-synergy multiple of 11.1x on expected 2027 EBITDA. The transaction is expected to complete towards the end of this year, subject to regulatory approvals. Informa said the focus for both companies will be to finish 2026 "as strongly as possible," with the initial three-to-six-month period post-combination to focus on delivery, minimizing distractions for colleagues and operating to the plans and budgets already committed for 2027. Clarion will become an operating business within Informa through this period, led by current CEO, Lisa Hannant, who will remain in her role and join the Informa Executive Leadership Team, the company explained.

Shipping services provider Clarkson says trading in August and September was "very strong". Geopolitical worries have created "further volatility across commodity and freight markets", so some areas of its business have seen record freight rates. "The Broking division has delivered revenues significantly ahead of previous expectations, while also adding to the forward order book. Alongside this, the Financial division has executed a number of transactions, resulting in performance also being significantly up on expectations," Clarkson says. As a result, it now expects 2026 underlying pretax profit of no less than GBP135 million. Peel Hunt notes this is ahead of consensus of GBP115.3 million. Telecom Plus, up 3.7% at 855.50p, 12-month range 638.00p-1,896.00p. Telecom Plus has backed annual guidance, and it has seen "encouraging progress" since setting out a five-year plan back in June. The London-based provider of bundled household utility services said in a trading statement for the first half ended September 30 that multiservice organic customer numbers increased at an annualised rate of over 11% to around 526,000. This is ahead of its 10% target for the full year. It reiterates its expectation of an annual adjusted pretax profit between GBP80 million and GBP90 million. It issues half-year results on November 24. "Our first half performance builds on the encouraging start to FY27 that we reported at our AGM in August, with growing momentum across all aspects of the business. Multiservice customer growth has been strong, and well ahead of the level we delivered in FY26, driven by the investment we are making in our customer proposition and underpinned by record levels of activity across our partner network," CEO Stuart Burnett says. Informa, up 3.2% at 889.20p, 12-month range 719.00p-1,000p. Informa says it will acquire Clarion Events for GBP2.24 billion, and it sets out a plan to separate its academic markets business. The London-based business information and exhibitions group will part-fund the Clarion buy through a placing, it adds. Clarion has an enterprise value of GBP2.24 billion and the deal is to be sealed "towards the end" of the fourth quarter. It will be acquired from Blackstone Inc. Informa plans to raise GBP940 million to part-fund the deal. A placing will be conducted through an accelerated bookbuild. The price per share and final number of shares to be placed will be decided at bookbuild close. It also announces a plan for a retail offer. "Informa will pause its current share buyback programme in order to redirect capital to fund the transaction, whilst maintaining balance sheet flexibility," it adds. In addition, it says it plans to separate Taylor & Francis, its academic markets arm. It has "formally launched a separation process to review all options". Domino's Pizza Group, up 3.0% at 218.74p, 12-month range 164.03p-221.60p. Berenberg believes Domino's Pizza Group has a "strong value proposition", leaving it well-placed to eat into a GBP3 billion UK pizza market. In addition, the new Chick 'N' Dip menu "could be transformational for the investment case, earnings and valuation", Berenberg says, in a note fittingly titled "buy the dip". BAE Systems, down 0.9% at 1,917.25p, 12-month range 1,529.00p-2,360.00p. The Times reports that UK Prime Minister Andy Burnham is mulling delaying a decision to up defence spending until autumn of next year. A spending review, which was expected to be held in the spring, was set to spell out a timetable for an increase in defence spend. But ministers are now mulling a delay so it can come alongside next year's budget. Citing one Whitehall source, The Times reports that the "working assumption" is that the spending review is to come next October. By Eric Cunha, Alliance News news editor (C) Alliance News - 2026
