It sets academic, experience, and professional practice requirements and enforces standards so only licensed individuals may lead engineering and geoscience projects in BC. Unlike trade associations that focus on members' careers, this regulator has legal authority to certify professionals and oversee compliance, ensuring public safety. Its goal is to protect the public by making sure engineers and geoscientists practising in BC meet clear, rigorous standards and act responsibly.
