Requirements
  • A doctoral degree and license in Clinical, Counseling, or School Psychology (PsyD or PhD) from an APA-accredited program.

  • Experience mentoring students.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.

Responsibilities
  • Provide individual and group clinical supervision of PsyD trainees delivering psychotherapy services in public school settings.
  • Support development of trainees’ competencies in evidence-based psychotherapy, case conceptualization, and culturally responsive clinical practice.
  • Collaborate with school-based professionals to ensure quality training experiences.
  • Serve as a liaison between KCU and partner school districts, coordinating school-based mental health professionals and administrators to support student access to psychotherapy services.
  • Provide consultation to school personnel on behavioral health, student support, and systems-level interventions.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary school teams to align psychotherapy training experiences with student and community mental health needs.
  • Contribute to the development and refinement of school-based behavioral health programming.
  • Assist in building sustainable training models and partnerships with local school systems.
  • Collaborate with the Center for Population Health and Equity on initiatives addressing access and equity in youth mental health services.
  • Oversee the weekly therapy practicum seminar for third-year PsyD trainees.
  • Provide service to the department, university, and community.
  • Contribute to program development, evaluation, and accreditation-related activities as appropriate.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Program Director.
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience providing and/or supervising psychotherapy services in school or community-based settings.
  • Familiarity with evidence-based therapeutic approaches for children and adolescents in school settings, including cognitive behavioral therapy, trauma-informed care, and dialectical behavior therapy.
  • Interest in interdisciplinary and population health approaches.
