Requirements
  • A high school diploma or GED is required, or five years of equivalent work experience.
  • The employee must obtain pallet jack and other powered industrial truck certification within six months.
  • Six months of manufacturing and/or warehousing experience is required.
  • Sufficient English speaking, reading, and writing skills are required to communicate with supervisors, line leads, and team members, read and understand standard operating procedures, current good manufacturing practices, safety procedures, and packaging standards, and maintain routine written records.
  • Basic addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division skills are required to calculate replenishment quantities.
  • The employee must be able to stand and walk for the full work shift; pull, push, and lift boxes, totes, and similar loads of up to 50 pounds for more than 50% of the time using pallet jacks and other powered industrial trucks; walk up and down stairs and ladders; and manipulate components and operate equipment controls and tools.
  • The employee must wear hearing protection in the packaging room and required protective eyewear, hair net, safety shoes, and uniform.
  • The position is not available for immigration sponsorship or support, including completion of the Form I-983 training plan required for STEM OPT.
Responsibilities
  • Move and replenish packaging components and bulk according to the pick list, verify components and bulk against the work order, and transport them using electric pallet jacks and other powered industrial trucks to the packaging line and staging area.
  • Fill bottle, cap, and product hoppers to ensure a constant supply of components to the line.
  • Remove pallets of finished goods from packaging lines or move them to the quarantine area, using pallet stacker equipment or other powered industrial trucks to replace full pallets with empty ones as needed.
  • Return product and components to stock accurately and promptly, and complete associated paperwork to maintain inventory records.
  • Maintain work areas in a clean and orderly condition by breaking down and palletizing used boxes and storing empty pallets and totes properly.
  • Use radio-frequency scanning equipment to charge components and bulk to the work order.
  • Work with the team to achieve changeover goals.
  • Support autonomous maintenance and continuous improvement activities on assigned packaging lines.
  • Train and cross-train other utility workers.
  • Clean the work area using rags, a broom, dustpan, and other cleaning utensils as required.
  • Disassemble and sanitize equipment at closeout of work orders, wash parts and machinery with water and cleaning agents, and dry parts as necessary.
  • Perform all duties in compliance with safety procedures, current good manufacturing practices, and standard operating procedures.
  • Report issues and problems to the lead or supervisor.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
