Requirements
  • A high school diploma is required.
  • Recent practical and related experience in a healthcare setting is preferred.
  • Must be able to work well in a team setting.
  • Must possess English verbal communication and literacy skills sufficient to understand verbal and written instructions and read product labels and procedure manuals.
  • Must be able to prioritize workload and function independently.
  • Must be able to meet the physical demands of continuous standing and walking, forward bending, pushing and pulling carts, reaching, some overhead reaching, squatting, climbing, and heavy lifting up to 30 pounds.
  • Must be able to operate moderate to light equipment.
  • May be required to work in and adapt to multiple areas.
  • A satisfactory employment and attendance record is required.
  • New hires must receive pre-employment medical clearance and comply with Halton Healthcare immunization policies.
  • Successful applicants must provide proof of vaccination or a documented medical exemption.
Responsibilities
  • Provide a clean and safe environment for patients, visitors, and staff.
  • Clean and disinfect public and clinical areas using methods approved by the Housekeeping and Infection Control departments.
  • Wash floors, ceilings, and walls.
  • Clean the inside of windows.
  • Dispose of waste and linen.
  • Perform related duties.
