Responsibilities
  • Drive and own instructional outcomes for students by spending the majority of their time on instructional leadership and teacher development (approximately 70%)
  • Set and execute the vision for STEM and Humanities on campuses in alignment with the networks instructional visions and act as a key driver for student achievement for a subset of the student population
  • Coach a caseload of teachers including high performers, new to career, and underperforming through weekly 1:1 coaching focused on student data and coaching toward goals
  • Collaborate with Achievement Directors and other Network Academic team members to monitor achievement data and unit level/lesson level intellectual prep and inform the development of teachers
  • Manage the effective implementation of High-Quality Instructional Materials on campuses, including providing feedback to teachers on their lesson plans or internalization
  • Support partnership with teachers and Associate Director of Special Services to ensure that all students, including those with exceptionalities, have access and support needed to achieve
  • Audit, analyze, and progress monitor data weekly to inform strategic decisions and priorities
  • Design and lead high-quality professional development that results in improved teacher effectiveness
  • Ensure there is an effective testing environment, investment, and procedures for testing in collaboration with the Network Operations and Academic teams
  • Consistently reinforce high expectations for all students and actively develop school culture where students find joy in learning and are engaged
  • Create a culture in which teachers build strong and lasting relationships with students, especially the most challenging students
  • Build an inclusive student environment, ensuring that all student voices are heard and incorporated
  • Speak to violations of culture and hold staff accountable to values/professional infractions with interactions with kids
  • Celebrate and show appreciation regularly for teammates
  • Actively develop school culture where teachers find joy in teaching and student learning
  • Consistently model high expectations for all staff and develop clear systems for how the staff culture will function
  • Engage families and community stakeholders proactively and productively as partners in school goals; address concerns
  • Create a culture and expectation that teachers reach out to parents and enlist proactive support for their child s long-term success
  • Ensure each direct report has a high-quality performance management process including regular observations, action steps, and weekly feedback and evaluations
  • Identify top performing teachers and retain them; manage struggling performers through goal setting and increased support; manage out low performers when necessary
Desired Qualifications
  • Advanced degree (Masters or Doctorate) in Curriculum and Instruction or Educational Leadership
  • State issued license as a teacher, supervisor, or principal
