Commercial Manager

- Experience with commercial management, including a strong understanding of construction contracts and financial functions.

- Manage day-to-day and long-term commercial matters for complex projects involving staff from multiple joint venture partners, subcontractors, and subconsultants.
- Provide executive oversight of all aspects of the commercial management function.
- Oversee commercial interactions with subcontractors and consultants, including payments, backcharges, and review and interpretation of contract clauses.
- Interpret contract language to understand project risks, rights, and responsibilities, and guide the project team in managing those clauses to limit exposure to additional costs.
- Review and analyze contract management records to advise on limiting exposure and protecting the company from additional risks related to changes and claims.
- Oversee project change and claim reporting and provide reporting to the Project Manager and divisional leadership.
- Oversee change and claim preparation, management, and resolution, working with the project team and corporate legal representatives.
- Lead preparation for dispute resolution hearings and other alternative resolution meetings.
- Support integration of project systems to track, monitor, and control costs, schedules, and claim resolution.
- Work with the Project Controls Manager to ensure accurate training and use of approved systems for project document control and reporting.
- Perform regular project reviews and monitor job risks and change management against key performance indicators.
- Coordinate with the project team and Project Controls Manager to track and monitor change-order and claims preparation and resolution.
- Prepare action plans to resolve timely payment for change orders and work performed.
- Review underbilling to determine possible measures for resolution.
- Coordinate, manage, and assist outside counsel and third-party consultants as needed for claim and change resolution.
- Perform additional assignments as directed by management.
- A Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related field.
- At least 10 years of experience in construction engineering, project management, or project controls.
- Prior experience on mega projects.
