Requirements
  • An associate or bachelor's degree in healthcare administration or a related field is preferred.
  • Two to three years of experience as an ophthalmic or optometric technician is preferred.
  • Ability to follow precise protocols and maintain strong attention to detail.
  • Willingness and flexibility to travel between multiple office locations as needed, with dependable transportation.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with the healthcare team.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and stay organized in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to maintain patient confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA and company policies.
  • Ability to remain stationary for extended periods and occasionally lift, carry, push, or pull up to 25 pounds.
  • Compliance with HIPAA, OSHA, and company policies is required.
  • Annual compliance training is required.
Responsibilities
  • Obtain and document comprehensive patient histories accurately and completely.
  • Follow office workup protocols to support efficient patient flow and physician needs.
  • Determine visual acuity and perform automated refraction.
  • Administer eye drops, ointments, and irrigating solutions as prescribed by the physician.
  • Measure intraocular pressure using tonometry accurately and safely.
  • Prepare patients for pre-operative procedures as directed.
  • Maintain and calibrate ophthalmic equipment and instruments.
  • Perform administrative and clinical tasks, including entering data into the electronic medical records system and providing direct patient services.
  • Recognize patient symptoms or inconsistencies in test results and report findings to appropriate medical personnel.
  • Maintain patient confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA and company policies.
  • Seek instruction in areas of uncertainty and stay informed about evolving ophthalmic practices.
  • Travel to various office locations as required.
  • Complete annual compliance training and comply with applicable workplace policies.
